This kid is my favorite player in the whole league. I plan on watching every minute he plays this season. He reminds me of an even longer magic Johnson. I think he owns the league in about 3 more years when LeBron fades. And I dream about getting a Rockets jersey on him more than any other player.
Giannis was the player I coveted the most in last year's draft. He just kept rocketing up the draft boards as the draft got closer and closer. He really lives up to his nick name, Greek Freak. I can't believe this kid even grew 2 more inches, he was already 6'9. He looks like Magic in Durant's body. Once he develops a consistent 3 ball, he will be unstoppable.
He is a great prospect...and we've been witnessing this since last yr as 18yr old rookie in the NBA. But, please don't say that he played any one position as an 17-18 yr old in Europe. He didn't. That's like High School in the US...and he was not on a major Euro team. I...in my few sources...have Euro contacts,,,and particularly an African/Greece-pro contact living in Stuttgart, Germany who played the same Greece-level Giannis did very recently. And knows him. Obviously, they connected. He has too much defensive ability to be a Magic-style PG. He will play the wing for offense and defense. I'm a big fan.
durant, anthony davis, nerlens noel, greek freak, Thon Maker... its like a new type of basketball player is showing up. 6'10+ guys who can move like point guards. If these guys keep showing up, the shortest guy in the league will be 6'7 before too long.
When Lebron fades, Durant will be 29-30. He will still be balling. Only thing Giannis seems to have is that inclination to play defense. Beast.
The franchise has withered for years. With a young and upcoming guy like this paired with Wiggins? I see them riding it out unless they can get someone with equal upside
He definitely has a lot of potential. The Bucks will be a fun team to watch with Parker and him next year. They won't make the playoffs but they'll be fun to watch. I can see them making noise in a few years. I love his background story and personality, too. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/from-selling-sunglasses-on-street-to-nba-player-on-the-rise--greek-freak-living-the-american-dream-214309752.html
