610am: Rockets to announce another signing this morning??

    It was not clear that they were joking because when they first brought it up this morning, all they said was that JVG and The Rockets were going to hold a press conference this morning to announce a "significant signing". There was no implication on their part that they were just fooling around and only later, did they bring up John Starks, which only then gave anyone a clue that they the whole announcement thing was just a joke.

    Frustrating when you can't tell when they are being serious and when they aren't. Thats why I call them bozos.

    they will sign a $3 billion / 30-year contract with YAO MING in 2006.

    codell -- no worries man. It's certainly not your fault if they presented it that way. Kind of lame.

    Jeff pointed out though if the Rockets sign Starks (I believe he's a coach of a USBL team though), and Ewing suited up, we could run a lineup of:

    PG - Mark Jackson
    SG - John Starks
    SF - Clarence Weatherspoon
    PF - Charles Oakley
    C - Patrick Ewing

    Helllooooooo, Knicks. I mean if we're going to recycle players from any team, lets do the Rockets. Wouldn't mind Clyde as a backup 2 ... dude was averaging 18 a night when he left (granted it was 6 years ago :)).
