I remember seeing Elie on the Warrior's bench about 2 weeks ago, when they played the rockets. Are you sure?
Not sure, I went to the Cavs game and he was doing shoot around and thought it was great he was back then shortly into the game I saw him on the sidelines with the ankle bandaged. I wasnt too close but figured he reinjured it or just wasnt ready yet.
Personally I think that lineup right there would get killed just as much our current injury laden lineup would. The only person who can create their own shot is Parker out of that group. The rest would also be standing around waiting for a kickout or just get shutdown in the 4th quarter. I can't think of any team in the NBA that could lose that much of their roster and hope to win on a consistent basis. Possibly Detroit perhaps.
Not even them, take off 4-5 of their primary rotation guys, and let's see how they do. I thought the Spurs comparo was relevant in that it put some perspective on this season, and it just tells me that anyone who blames the players for what we have gone through this season is just not getting it.
Detroit is one team that CAN'T handle that. Their strength is having the best starting 5 that compliments each other's game. Take away Sheed and Billups and you have no one to create their offense (Carlos Arroyo, but he sucks) and you take away their best on the ball defender and offensive big man. You're down to Rip in the backcourt who's one dimensional game is no longer a plus w/out billups. Prince is an inconsistent offensive player and Ben Wallace is non-existent. That's only 2 injuries, I haven't even started taking away a considerable portion of their depth yet.
