What about adding Fernandez? Didn't Morey want him last year?

The way I see it if they move Outlaw or Webster it's only to make room/minutes for Fernandez otherwise they don't move them at all unless it's for a major PG upgrade. I think Pritchard considers him more valuable than their 13th pick. He was telling a radio guy how Fernandez was the MVP of three competitions/tournaments he participated in this season alone.

What is his contract status? It seems like with the plunge in the US$, Europeans are more inclined to stay home now.

He had a press conference in Spain annoucing that he's leaving for the NBA. He's going to take the lesser dollars of his first round contract and he is free to do so but wants playing time for doing so. His US agent also mentioned he wants a contract agreed upon (with Portland) before the start of the Olympics.

He's young and talented enough to hope for a deal over the MLE in the future. The MLE is pretty much the equivalent of a max deal in Europe. Also a guaranteed NBA contract is more "guaranteed" than an european one.

A side note his sister plays for LA Sparks in the WNBA.

People need to think of this as chess, not checkers. Shane is a piece, like a knight. He's a little different than the pawns, but he is there to get the queen. If he has to be sacrificed to get us closer to the queen, so be it. The Rox dont have alot of tradeable players. If the Rox can get a young atheletic guy like Outlaw who is getting better, then do it. They can always back him up with a veteran like Davis, Barnes, or Posey. Its not that hard. Is outlaw as good of a defender as Shane? No, but he is actually pretty good now and can get better. Offensively, he's better right now and can get better. They can combinate that move by getting another young upgrade like Mo Williams at the point. The Rox have just gotten younger and more atheltic with 2 moves. That helps in back to back scenerios as well as opening the window and keeping open longer. If they stay the course, that window is closed after next year.

Why would you trade Battier for draft pick (that's just stupid). Battier is very valuable for this team especially playing behind Yao and Tmac. He's the one guy that consistently knocking down long shots. And not to mention his tenatious defense. He's like Bruce Bowen. If u want to get rid of him, you want someone that is at least as good as he is ....like Artest.

Are we talking regular season or playoffs? The difference between Bowen and Battier is The have 3 legit 17ppg guys and the rox have 2 and sometimes 1 because of injury. I'm not saying they have to get rid of him, I'm just saying dont try to make him out to be something special cause he's not. I didnt say Outlaw was special, but at least he's gettin better while Shane's arrow is going down. He hasnt really gotten better since his rookie yr really.

Well i would think Shane is the 3rd special player on this team along with Scola. They're the charging brothers...the glue of Rockets' defense. He fit perfectly playing along Yao and Tmac in terms of knocking down 3s.

But of course he has weaknesses like...not very good at attacking the basket and not being super athletic....ect., and not able to create his own shots. So i guess if you're going to trade him, you want a player back that can at least do some of the things Shane can't do.

Well, regardless of who you think the most polite Rocket is, Clanton was intimating that the rumor was about Battier.

    i agree with this.

i just hope lee is available at 25. i think the magic are really high on him for the #22 pick.

realistically, i would trade anyone but our starters to land a perfect fit backup like rush. lets hope the rockets have what it takes to get to #13 without using any starters.

The same Przybilla Houston drafted and traded? With the extra pick from it used toward getting Eddie Griffin? Not too upset with that, cuz it helped worsen the team for them to draft Yao Ming.

Przybilla would be a very nice backup to Yao and Mutombo replacement, I'd keep him. At the cost of Brooks? Battier for Rush and Hill...I wouldnt do it, but plenty here probably would.

Actually, I'd be happy to see Orlando take Lee at no.22.

The guy we should draft at 25 is Chris Douglas-Roberts. With this draft being one of the deepest in years, we should be trying to trade for high second rounders, as they will be like Landry. Hint hint: Richard Hendrix...

CDR - more of a slasher, big school
Lee - more of a shooter, smaller school

Orlando's GM is pretty high on Lee, and I wouldn't mind that.

we'll have to wait and see. i'm not as high on cdr as everyone else seems to be. he hasn't projected well at all in hollingers formulas, which have a 70% success rate.

also, most gm's had him ranked pretty low in their tier system.

i do agree with you about hendrix. i'd trade up to get this guy as use it as leverage for signing landry to a decent contract / s&t for a wing player.
