Stop whining about that Nuggets game. There is a draft lottery. Look at Portland last year. If they tanked knowing they were not going to make the playoffs they would have ended up with different lottery codes and maybe not landed the top pick. Memphis tanked it that season and ended up with the fourth pick. Look at the Bulls this year.

It was pretty clear after Yao went down we were not going to win a playoff series in the West. Yet the Rox went out and won 12 more games to make it 22 in a row. Then they played hard as hell to get home court. No one whined during the streak, stop whining now about your favorite team playing hard and winning a game two years ago, meaningless as it may have been.

I'm not trying to put down what our guys did this year. This is the 1st first time since Dream's last days that I have had hope. Everyone knew we weren't going to win a playoff series without Yao.I wrote at the time of Yao's injury that all I want from them is to try their best and they did that. It was not a question of getting the number 1 pick either, but getting the best player possible in any draft adds depth to the team. We have gotten better primarily because of the additions to the team this year.

Why not Shane or Shane/Brooks to Portland for #13 (Rush) Portland 2nd rounder (Hill?) and Przbilla? Keep or trade Przbilla.

It was mentioned by Adam Clanton. He said he didn't want to mention the name, but that he heard a rumor that the "most polite Rocket" was going to be traded, and then proceeded to play a hot key of Battier's laugh.

i've posted a similar idea in another thread using bjax ending to take on pryz.

in your trade we would be in the same boat as we are now... 2 athletic wings with luther head backing them up. i like rush but i dont think he's ready to start / replace shane.

The most polite Rocket IMO is Rafer Alston. When is he leaving? ;)
Actually I don't want to get rid of Skip, but getting an upgrade at the point would be nice.

Rush isn't worth more than a 20th pick.I would rather take Courtney Lee at the 25th if he is available and keep Battier too.

So, would the trade be something like Battier and picks/ cap filler for Outlaw and the #13? I would do that trade if it netted Rush, or Courtney Lee along with Outlaw.

Unlikely IMO. The Blazers want more experience but they value their young players as well.

Yeah, getting Outlaw and the 13th pick seems a bit far fetched. I would hope that Morey doesn't just give Battier away, though.

I don't think he will do that.

They are all pretty damn polite... Aaron Brooks, Luis Scola, Yao Ming, Carl Landry. I can't see how any of these guys are any more of an ******* than Shane is.

Come to think of it, if the Rockets are going to give up a significant asset, the most likely candidate is not Battier. It really is either Scola or Landry. Yes, they are both good, but there much more depth at PF (with those two and Hayes all capable of getting some minutes) than there is on the Wings. Anyhow, there were all these rumors flying around last year, too... as it turned out, deals were made, but not any deal that the rumors covered.

There isn't going to be much depth at the 4 if Luis or Carl leave,Hayes is a good defender but it's going to be close to having Juwan and Hayes back together if that happens, but I do feel that we have slightly more depth at the 4 as compared to the wings. Unfortunately Head has been useless in the playoffs and neither can SF or Bobby Jackson do much at the 2 guard spot with McGrady's vulnerability to injuries.

    Really?

    Not for Battier...

You get the best defensive wing in the league for a bench player

A talented bench player plus a lottery pick.I think they might try and package the pick with Outlaw and Jack but they will want more than Battier IMO. Their main concern is getting a starting PG instead of the role player 1's that they have. Roy is not a Battier on defense but he is a good wing defender.Getting a better 1, keeping Roy at 2,and Webster at the 3 along with Fernandez as a bench player is probably what they want to do.

If you would have been listening to 1560 you wouldn't have to worry about what lame rumor they reported.

Rudy Fernandez hasn't signed with Portland yet. His US agent said they still had to work out logistics. Salary is set because he is a first round pick. It could mean they are waiting for a SG/SF to be moved to open up minutes?

So maybe Outlaw/Webster + 13th for the most polite Rocket?
