yeah, that gets so freaking old. MORON, you talk all the time!!! let the guest talk! Did you catch the time they had CD on and john asked what CDs memorable moments were...then Lance starting answering the question!! take some ritalin guy! he sort of reminds me of a young pippen a little.
No I blame him for winning a useless game while we were in tank mode that caused us to lose out on ROY.
Dude, Van Gundy is gone. "Scott Ramsey for youtube sports," thinks we are going to contend for the title next season because of Adelman ("Aldeman"). If Scott thinks so, I think so... <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/e4c9Cqqz4bA"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/e4c9Cqqz4bA" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
i didnt say we wouldnt...and i really dont know how you got to that conclusion by me rolling my eyes at purposely losing games to get better position for a lottery.
o man, i loved JVG... its sad to see him gone. on a different note, did anyone hear the conversations matt and lance were having about 'if JVG managed the Astros'? hilarious. altho I have to note that the impersonation that matt and lance did of stephen a smith interviewing spelling bee kinds with effing hilarious. My car nearly swerved on the road i was laughing so hard... thats one of the funniest morning show moments of all time...
Exactly!!! The will of JVG- My way or No way- Defence first- stagnent Offence You will do as i say, even if it causes us to loose the 3rd opition player which our team needs and wants!
Yep. Some of us have brought it up in every "we should've drafted Rudy Gay!!!!!!11!!!" thread this year. But it always seems to fall on deaf ears.
So the Rockets' logic was.... Roy > Battier > Sefalosha + contract to balance #8 for #13(#16) > Gay + Swift Thabo was traded down from #13 to #16 Rodney Carney and cash. What a mess they made of that. Gundy played vets in meaningless games losing out on Roy and $Ball rates a player that can't get off of the Bulls' bench higher than what the league rated as their #3 rookie. What next? Crittendon @#26 for #33 and a $Ball player to be named later? EDIT: VG got Battier...he got what he wanted...he got canned...he got what he deserved for his part in this fiasco.
Van Gundy said that was Morey's trade not his, he restated today that Morey pushed for Battier, Les thought they didn't get enough back and CD and him signed off on the deal for Battier. I know for a fact he wanted to try and work out a deal for Matt Harpring. My gut feeling is that Morey thought Battier was a better deal and or Utah wouldn't part with Harpring.
Steve Novak was also a pick to please JVG. JVG had been crying out loud at the end of 05-06 that the Rockets needed shooters in the forward positions. Novak was drafted at #32 and that was very high for a stiff spot up shooter who has no physical to play any defense. I can see why the FO was pissed after they saw Novak got so little minutes. Hey, the FO got what JVG cried for and JVG threw Novak at the end of the bench. Also, Scott Padgett's signing should ring another bell.
Don't waste your breath. Gater is playing sad songs on his guitar crying about how Van Gundy destroyed his team. He should really pick up the violin.
Can someone please explain to me what was the knock on Rudy Gay? I understand that most people wanted him to take over college basketball but he did not. Some question his motivation and ethics but really what do you expect from a guy that dropped from top 3 to number 8. Of course you are going to have take a risk if a guy like that drops to your lap. I don't know what the Rockets were expecting from that position in the lottery. Yeah Brandon Roy sounds good but someone else made a trade for him and we just sat there looking. All I am saying is that unless you are in the top 3 you have to take a guy like Gay regardless of what the teams ahead of you thought. Too often this happens and teams later regret it case in point Kobe Bryant and Tracy McGrady who were both skipped by teams because they weren't sure if it would pan out. Look at it this way if the Rockets take Gay and he pans out, everyone loves the decision but if he fails then nobody will really question it because we took the best available prospect and took a risk. Now on the other hand we traded him and if he becomes an all-star then bad decision and management will forever regret it. Battier is good but not great. We were told that it was a "win now" but that has led us to nothing in the playoffs. Look this whole win now thing applies to already experienced playoffs teams like Dallas, San Antonio and Phoenix. They are the ones looking for such short term solutions because they have a short window. The Rockets are not even a second round team so what do they have to lose by drafting and playing a rookie?
