One more bit on Ensberg. His worst months were April and Sept/Oct. In those two months, he played 40 regular season games, but only hit 4th in 9 of them, all in April. He wasn't setting the world on fire in the number 4 slot, but his early season tailspin really began when he was moved down in the order around mid-April. In September he hit in the 3rd almost exclusively.

On April 18th he hit 4th against Atlanta and after going 0 for 2, he was hitting .300 with an OBP of .400 and Slg of .462. These were pretty decent numbers, but then when he was moved lower in the order and finished April at .246/.342/.377. He started to turn it on in May and from June 3 his cumulative OPS never dropped below .900

This just means more money via arbitration.

Is it me or did he look a lot bigger this year? Perhaps even bigger from early in the season to later in the season.

He'll have to share that award with Adam "Might as well bring in a pitcher to pinch hit for me" Everett.

He was just horrible in the playoffs and WS, but he had a great season. Too bad it didn't last longer.
