I apologize for not getting to this earlier, but the Fellas in the afternoon don't listen very well, and I was kind of in a rush. Luther Head had a death in the family, he is excused from the team. Bonzi's situation is less clear, and JVG did not want to expound other then to say that he was dealing with some personal issues and it was an excused absence. JVG also said he wasn't going to freak out if Bonzi wasn't hear to start the season. If you want to save yourself the trouble of having to clarify every Rockets rumor, you could just listen to the Nightshift at 6, since the only people that ever cover Rockets games or practices are myself, Adam, Marc Berman, and J. Feigan. FYI Rafer needed stitches after he clashed heads with Kirk Snyder, he should play sunday against San Antonio.

Does it suprise anyone that these two head cases clashed heads?

    :p

Thanks for the clarification and the info, though.

As for Bonzi... so Van Gundy really wouldn't be suprised if he's not here to start the season? Seems like whatever he's dealing with will take a while. Anyhow... best of luck to him, whatever it is. I have my guesses, but they are as baseless as all other guesses so I

    won't even mention it.

not only has he only been here a month this guy hasn't even stepped on the court with his teamates for a groin, a freakin root canal, and now this. he isn't exactly endearing himself to his new organization.

No big deal. Preseason is pretty meaningless despite what JVG would have you believe.

you act like no-one deserves a fresh start. he didn't act up last year either, perhaps he's changed? i don't know the guy, but i just don't see how it helps either side to treat him like he's a f#$k up waiting to happen.

So, we should waive him just like we were supposed to do with Spanoulis earlier?

Matt, you and Adam have the best sports show in town, by a mile. Thanks for coming to the forum and updating us.

OT: BTW, your comments yesterday about seeing Novak in the starting lineup are a bit premature. If he earns it that would be fantastic but I just can't see it happening to start the season. I agree with Adam on that one. Either way, you guys keep up the Rockets talk, updates and debates every evening. We're listening.

I didn't think Bonzi would be in starting lineup to begin the season anyway. I think Kirk Snyder will likely start. At least we have some relative depth at the 2 (especially with VSpan playing so well). I am starting to wonder about Bonzi's desire and the constant excuses to miss practice and preseason games (whether legit or not, he's not doing any favors for his teammates). I'm just hoping this latest absence isn't a portent of things to come with this guy.

i was watching the bucks the other night and thinking man, bonzi must have had some serious dental work done on him to make him miss the first 4 games of the pre-season. this explains it a little better.

Bonzi's the one who needs to get the time. The other players will have much smaller roles than Bonzi, so it's more important that Bonzi is up to speed than the other guys.
