In CD's mind Bobby hitting two shots in a row means "he's making a lot of shots" and they don't think in the front office they just go with the flow and react. Thinking is hard and to proactive. :D

we have to hold out hope.

i don't know why so many people have all this knowledge to tell them "Sura's done"? how exactly do you back this up?

Look I realise he's not gonna be the old Bobby in all likelihood. But if he does get on the court, he's an asset...

even if only as a tradeable commodity.

Just maybe CD said more? Just maybe that's all the writer incorporated into his story?

he's motivated, healthy, pain free, practicing, and has three more months until training camp. at this point, without a setback, i feel as though he'll be part of this team.

i expect him to compete with spanoulis for the backup minutes unless comes into camp way ahead of schedule.

for those medical experts out there....don't pee in my pool. i'm not having it.

The next time that CD gives us true insight into what the Rox are thinking will be the first time. That's why I come here. I am depending on the hard core fans with some connections into the organization to keep us up to snuff as much as possible. It's understandable what CD does. I just get a kick out of how he makes public comments on issues, appears on radio talk shows for hours, and does TV interviews, and never really says anything that helps any of us know what they are really thinking. To me, it's one sign that he is a good GM.

Who was the poster that was giving us info on here a couple years back that really had an inside view that passed away on us? Oelpiere? I miss him. Doc Rocket's appearances are even getting rarer and rarer. We ought to start a petition to have Doc Rocket write a state of the Rockets piece once a week or something. I wouldn't mind if he added some conjecture and speculation.

This board has more insider info than any other place that I have been.

    CD what a hoot!

"Well, he sure has been fogging a lot of mirrors."

Maybe CD didn't say alot because
    1. that was the nicest thing he coudl have said about Sura's condition... meaing.. "How's Bobby doing, CD?" "Clearly he's not nearly 100%, he isn't moving or running like his old self and we have don't think he will. He should really just retire.... but I don't want to hurt his feelings and we can afford to let him flop around on the court living out his desperate dream for a few more weeks anyway... let's say something positive... can't say he's moving well.. can't say he's jumping.. what do I say? Oh, I know... 'He made a lot of shots'"

    or
    2. He truely has no more idea about what's going on than any of us. Sura himself appears uncertain. So, CD just threw out a random quote.

Honestly, what do you expect him to say?

The last GM I recall being candid was Hockey Guy. Hero o'Stevie. Formerly of the eNNeeAy.

Start the Doc petition, but is he really 'inside' during the JVD Era?

It's not a matter of inside knowledge, it's based on the fact he's only played in 61/164 regular season games (37.2%) since we signed him, and he's had back and knee surgeries. Nobody knows for sure yet but there is every reason to be doubtful. I'm sure it's happened before at least once, but how many 33 year old NBA players come back and play effectively after missing an entire season?

We definitely need what he brings but pardon so many of us for expecting recent history to repeat itself. And this stuff about if he's on the court he's an asset: Only if he can play well enough. The Sura that finished out the playoffs against the Mavs didn't help us. We need the Sura that produces 10/5/5, throws his body around with reckless abandon and gets in the face of opposing players. If he has another year of that somehow left in him, great! Otherwise it's time to move on and run with the horses that will last the full season.

There wasn't actually an organized "press conference." Sura basically just worked out and they let reporters in to ask him any questions they had afterwards.

Yeah, I think he's closely enough connected that he still knows stuff. I just think it is getting harder for him to say stuff without being pinpointed by the organization. Either that, or he really was a ball boy and is no longer. It would be nice if that is the case if he could find 3 or 4 people on this board that he could trust to release the information as a fan speculating instead of an insider.

Kinda like the Old Man Rock stuff with Howard. There is no doubt in my mind that the Rox are talking or have kicked around a deal with the Lakers. We might not have the players right. And the deal may not go down, but I am convinced that they have discussed it. And because LakersPride has come here after being incognito for 3 years or so and gave us a heads up shortly after Old Man Rock began with the trade speculation is another indicator that there is merit to it. I think Old Man Rock may know more than what he is letting on. Which is fine by me. That trade thread is one of the few trade proposals that come across this board that makes sense for both teams. It makes sense that we want to get rid of Howard's contract and it makes sense that the Lakers would want a PF that can give them the midrange offense that they do not have now. The speculation did not come from *********.com. They just picked up on it after it was speculated here.

That insight (if you believe it is true) lets me know that the Rox see the need to move Juwan because he does not fit and they are looking very diligently into moves including him. It lets me know they see what we see and are trying to do something about it.
