the only team stand to gain in this particular trade is phoenix. they get landry and fernandez along with tmac's expiring. great deal for them with two young, tested, talented players with playoff experience. the rockets get two fat contracts in richardson and amare who we already know is going to demand alot of money for the next contract. this doesn't make us championship contenders without yao being back. bad move portland gets battier for fernandez. they'd be nuts to do such a move. they give up youth, talent, athletic ability and offense. not a good deal if i was Portland. worst of all. they are not contenders with this move and they give up a special player for a defensive specialist on the downhill of his career
Id take Stoudemire any day over bosh...hes more explosive a better shooter...can nail a 3...more athletic...a better shot blocker...hes just not from houston. That with JT, Budinger, Lowry, Hayes (d), James White off the bench we can run teams to death. Plus we still have our MLE to throw at Marvin Williams or Childress or Wafer........or even Channing Frye.
Agreed for the most part except for Portland. On the surface of it, this deal would make a great deal of sense for everyone involved except the Rockets. Thankfully, this was just idle speculation on the part of the radio hosts.
I want Amare on this team pretty bad. More so, pre-Yao meltdown. I want no part of Richardson, though. We might be better off standing pat than completing this type of move. Plus, it sounds like the legitimacy of this report is being questioned in the first place. Sounds like there's nothing to see here.
This is a roll of the dice trade if anything. You go for Amare who has been an injury risk, and you give him the max contract. Uhmmmmm... Is that really smart? But, I think that if this trade goes through it's a potential title contender maker. Amare (good scorer and electric) Scola (tremendous hustle and efficiency) Ariza (super defense with a super shot) Richardson (point point and more points) Brooks (Super Speed guy figuring out the NBA) That team is meant for running and gunning. It will be the most exiting team in the NBA. And if they can keep up their defensive ways, it will scare the crap out of the contenders like the lakers, spurs, celtics, Cavs, and Magic.
LOL....man...did you even watch Rick Adelman's Kings teams back then? That was the most perfect example of each player thinking as one as we've seen in the league. The offense was fluid because of the players BBall IQ, not talent level.
Very balanced trade for all 3 sides We lose athleticism down low in landry, but regain it in amare Tracy McGrady we are looking to dump anyway, so in essence we don't lose anything (on the court) and we simply trade battier for jason richardson I view it as a very solid trade, and would definately be happy if the trigger was pulled on this. You have to remember, Amare and jason richardson fit very well into Adelmans system, especially if we have AB running a very fast paced motion offense, the only thing that we will see a drop off at is our defense. Our three best defenders are either injured, or have been shown the door (yao, artest, battier). To keep it simple, I like the trade idea.
We might have to give the max contract to Amare. It is a huge risk after all the mess caused by TMAC and Yao.
Anyone who suggests straight up swapping Shane for Rudy just doesn't get it. The Suns would want Rudy in the deal to make it worthwhile for them.
I dont know about that. If Shaq can play with the Suns..Well, he wasnt good but he played anyways lol I think Yao can play with them, many times this year he was the first or second player back when we ran.
Makes a lot more sense than most radio rumors. It's very tempting, but you can only pull the trigger if you're sure this puts you back in title contention, or REALLY close. With those contracts we are going to be tied down for a while, so Amare will have to be the core player until Yao gets back (if he gets back). Without looking at his contract, it makes since to plug Richardson into the lineup and essentially replace Battier with Ariza. We'd still have to find a backup big man somewhere, though. I think whether something like this happens or not, we're still a year away from having a shot at being contenders again. I don't see anyway we can rebuild our core and our depth in one offseason.
