The thread that was locked cited a post on an Orlando message board that cited a report on 610 radio by Matt Anderson.... a report that apparently did not ever air, nor was anderson even on the air at that point. That makes it a fake report.....I can report that I just read a message board that had CNN report "Kerry Defeats Bush in 2004 election" today and it might come true ...however as of right now it's a fictitious story. Ok?
Damn, Fisher, calm down. There are other sources other than 610. The only reason that the thread was closed because it was cited from another forum. The news was right, but the source was maybe wrong.
watched esnp and steve didnt say he wouldnt play in orlando or like their fans. THrough his agent he said he wasnt happy with the trade, but that is usually what happens.
how is it meaningless if 1) the mcgrady deal maybe contingent upon this 2) we get a backup pg in ollie
I wonder if CD is asking for Lue, he is a capable starter and he probably doesnt want to play off the bench if francis is traded. His contract is small and only for one year. It makes sense to me unless orlando wants to keep him.
semantics, semantics....... that thread got locked b/c it was from another forum, but obviously that's what francis said. so quit trying to be a self-proclaimed moderator. apparently francis did say that, so that quote would neither be false nor ficticious. somebody obviously heard it before us, and posted it. just because someone heard before you or me or even Clutch doesnt mean it wasnt said. but the thread deserved to be locked since it was sourced from another BBS. sorry for ranting.
I wonder if Steve just recognizes that he can't carry a team, which is what he'd have to do in Orlando.
True, but hed have alot of help. PG - Francis SG - Mobley SF - Bogans PF - Okafor C - Cato Bench PG - Lue SG - Gaines F - Stevenson C - Hunter And if Hill can give them 20-30 mins......... Overall, the Magic team looks decent after the trade.
Yeah... except that Ollie's contract runs 2 years longer. Did I mention that Ollie couldn't even play in CLEVELAND? Good God, did management learn anything about taking on/dishing out long scrub contracts from prior mistakes? Pike can STILL be an effective shooter on this team! But no, instead, we get a point guard with a career 40% shooting percentage. Oh, my bad, he shot a blistering 37% last year. (... And don't even try to point out his career 38% 3-point shooting percentage, because he's only attempted a grand total of 21 in 7 years in the NBA...) I really think the Tip Jar money should go towards buying CD a clue. That guy really needs to take a Contracts/Salary Cap 101 class.
Source? Not that I think Steve isn't capable of saying something like that, but if there's no source and most Houstonians haven't heard it when the alleged source is a Houston radio, then it's very likely false. How is it obvious that Francis said that?
It's not like he's gonna start or anything... I'm fine with him being our backup: 2002 Assist/TO leaders (#1) Last year's Assist/TO leaders (#11)
Why the @#$% would CD go after Ollie when Charlie Ward is available for a shorter, cheaper contract, and can actually hit a three?
