Bad signal, and they insist on talking over eachother which makes it even more difficult to hear what they are saying.
I'll agree to this. Their signal is pretty terrible, which is why I find myself on 610 most of the time. In fact, I don't even turn elsewhere for sports radio since 740 is run by idiots and 1560 is mostly static for me. I certainly wish I didn't have Rich Lord to listen to, however. Can Adam Wexler just work more hours and fire Rich Lord?
the adam clanton love is downright mind-bottling. he's not funny. in fact, he's the worst kind of unfunny: he's unfunny but *thinks* he's funny, which lends his unfunniness a waft of smarminess. seriously, he is *awful*. good riddance. in fact, i can't stand any of the 610 personalities. vandemeer tries really hard but i think he's ultimately a nerd and comes across as such. rich lord has no idea what he's talking about. matt jackson comes off like an 8-year old kid and overtalks, which would really drive me crazy except wexler outdoes him by talking 50 times more while being 500 times more boring. seriously, do his bosses listen to his show? and i've all but given up on 1560. they need to send chance back to dallas for another year of studying (stealing from) the ticket; they've got it all wrong. it's devolved into 10 hours of overwhelming, uninteresting personalities. i like lance but his ADD is burdensome and john isn't near as entertaining as he thinks he is. sean is really good but the guy he works with takes a daily dip in the douche pool and turns my skin. charlie is the still the best local host.
Wexler is the best thing on 610, I enjoy listening to him. Complaining about people talking too much on talk radio. Now I'm convinced. Danny Vera is that you?
Agree with the two complaints on 1560. Signal quality is a major problem for 1/4 of my ride to work and so some mornings I just don't end up on the station. Afternoons are a drag for me because it's all college football all the time.
who's that? they have this supplement to help fill air time: it's called callers. see also: guests. if you could hear paint drying, it would sound like wexler's show - assuming the drying paint was being stabbed to death with a dull blade. he spews a constant torrent of boredom; he's absolutely terrible, imo.
Sorry you feel that way. I really enjoy Wexler. He's actually a smart radio personality. If I were to express Wexler in math terms it would look this: W= P-C+H where W=Wexler, P=Charlie Palilo, C=condescension, and H=humor
do you think CP is condescending? i don't, though i'd understand someone thinking he is. i actually think he handles callers rather well considering a large portion of them obviously drive him up a wall; he reacts much more civil than i ever would and i've heard some doozies on his show. palilo's one fault is that he's just not a cool guy. so his humor and non-sports interests are lacking. BUT from a knowledge/entertainment perspective, he's far and away the best radio host in houston, imo.
i love CP. his humor is very subtle. like you said, he handles the idiot callers very well. that's what so funny about him. you know he's just ready to go off the deep end.
I love CP. He's incredibly intelligent, subtle humor, dry, researches, etc. I don't mean it as a knock on him. That said, absolutely he is condescending. I also get the feeling that he is not well liked by any of the people who have worked with him.
Mind-bottling? I'll just let that one stand on it's own...but I'm pretty sure you were shooting for mind-BOGGLING. Maybe there's love for me because I'm actually not negative about EVERY SINGLE THING. Having said that, to each his (or her) own. I never aimed to please everyone, and I enjoyed the experience (no pun intended) while I was able to do it. It's just not a feasible schedule for me at this point, and you don't say no to a TV gig in a Top-10 market. So for those of you on here who appreciated the show (and still can for three more days LOL), thanks for listening and I'm never going to be far from the radio. And maybe someday I'll win you over, Ric. As "mind-bottling" as that may sound
Umm. I'm pretty sure Ric meant to say mind-bottling. Never heard that term? http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=mind bottling
I never heard of it either. This sounds like people made up a term after failing to use mind-boggling correctly
But it came from urban dictionary, so it must be a legit word... Eh, maybe you're right. It's been so long ago since those guys were together.
Blades of Glory Chazz: Mind-bottling, isn't it? Jimmy: Did you just say mind-bottling? Chazz: Yeah, mind-bottling. You know, when things are so crazy it gets your thoughts all trapped, like in a bottle?
I'm going to vouch for Ric on this one. I pay attention to his posts and he is far too intelligent to unknowingly use a phrase like that. I'm 99% sure that was intentional. Having said that. Best wishes AC. Aside from the caller/txter drama about other callers/txters, I loved the show, especially the Miller Lite man impressions. I know that wasn't you but it was hilarious. I'm going to send a text to the show as "Rex the Text Cannon". look for it.
