Hmmm, I just heard Adam Clanton's last day on 610 is this Friday, will move fulltime in his Channel 2 KPRC gig. And Vandermeer promising big things in the horizon for 610. Houston sports radio will lose a great personality, rocketabc say it ain't so.
That freaking sucks. How does ABC leave before Rich Lord?!?! I would offer Rich Lord's contract in addition to Adam's and can Rich.
Well look at it pragmatically: get to look at Dominique's ta-tas on a fulltime basis or look at Vandermeer more. Seems elementary.
1560 is horrible. Their signal quality is still pathetic, and this is 2-3 years down the road now, their best show, Lance and John in the morning, only talks about sports 50% of the time and I couldn't even tell you what the rest of their lineup was. Even if you find 610 boring - which I often do in the mornings, I still can't switch to 1560.
Clanton will be a huge loss, but I'm not surprised he has bigger things on his horizon. Ever since the NBA Finals ended, I've given up on sportsradio in Houston. Perhaps I'll listen on Mondays after Texans games or maybe when the NBA season starts, but I don't think so. The actual games themselves and the internet is about all I need. I shut off the TV talking heads several years ago and now the same with radio.
has it been confirmed who what national broadcasting 610 will pick up. I like Clanton personally but I'll just say this, he's probably better for television. i don't mind him leaving the morning show. vandermeer has really grown leaps and bounds imo as a radio broadcaster. I still remember a post by chance a few years ago where he said vandermeer just needs to let loose on his opinions. I think he has finally done that.
the voice couldnt let loose when doing the drive time teachers with rich, because rich was too opinionated but that dynamic was so fun to listen to..... its like the abusive husband + submissive wife rich: the texas absolutely suck, do they not? mark: well... yea... but... they're improving... i guess john and lance rome mark and rich matt and adam that was the best lineup, the good ol' days
Kinda boring actually, because there weren't any noticeable friction between CP and RL. It's about the same as Matt and Rich in that Rich has to be corrected and reminded from time to time of basic sports facts and basic pop culture info but more analytical because of CP. I never got a hint of frustration from CP like I do from Matt when interacting with Rich, so it seems like CP had more patience with Rich.
couldn't disagree more. CP seemed bitter all the time when working with Rich, and often he seemed the cause. That said, CP seems kinda bitter anyway sometimes. I often got the impression that he thought he was too smart for sports and was stuck doing it for whatever reason. Matt and Rich actually have worked out better than I ever thought they would... what that says I don't know.
Love the station, but I am about to give up as I'm sick to death of hearing static during the shows, IF I'm able to pick it up.
