Now he will get playing time. Hope he makes the best of his opportunity and when he comes back is a better player.

Yeah, figured this would happen, JT and Ish could go down there too if we get healthy.

This is good for Patterson, he was not going to figure in the rotation early this year anyway.

Another bad coaching decision, IMO. I don't think he will be with the Vipers long. He belongs with the team moreso than Jeffries and Miller, IMO. He plays defense and can shoot. On the job training is always the best way to go. Like i said once before, until there is a change, Yao will be out at least 18 games. Miller will not play defense. Jeffries cannot makes shots. Patterson can and has done both.

It's because Hill is doing pretty well, along with Chuck Hayes. Jefferies needs minutes so he can be traded.

This should be a good experience for him... Hopefully next year he will be able to make a solid and consistent contribution to our rotation.

You cannot just send Miller and Jeffries down to the D-League, though. You can make them inactive, but that still doesn't guarantee Patterson gets significant minutes anyway since Miller/Jeffries aren't getting much lately either.

Being sent to the D-League is not a knock on Patterson at all, just like it wouldn't be for Ish or JT being sent down. It's so they play and get better.

I didn't say anything about sending any of those two to the D-league because it's obvious you can't. Your second sentence proves my point.

Not a big deal... we are grooming him to be Scola's backup for the next 4 years. He will eventually take over Chuck's spot in the rotation. Let him develop and bring him back when it's time.

So much for "most NBA-ready player in the draft"...

I want to see nothing short of 20pts/10reb/2blks from "Patman" down in the D-League!

And Kareem Jackson falls down. ;)

I think its a good move, letting him ride the pine does nothing for him. He needs to play, and work on his game.

This is not a demotion.. The Rockets currently have a logjam of bigs and the rookie gets snubbed.. big surprise. He will get his chance later on.

exactly. I'd rather him get playing time down there and refine his game instead of rotting away on the bench. If Patterson knows what's good, he will make full use of this time with the RGV. and who knows, he might get called back if one of our PF's gets injured.
