Very exciting, I'm psyched. While I was against this trade if it meant giving up the store Cato, Mobley and Francis for only T-Mac. This is a great deal for the Rockets, Rox get a superstar, pretty good PF and servicable point guard. Rox still need a few more pieces and are not through dealing. Season ticket sales should go through the roof, Houston fans should pack the Toyota Center this season.

Same interview is being shown on local news tonight (KTRK)...

something else significant about his scoring...

"If my scoring goes down, so be it...as long as we're winning more games".

I know anything he says will sound good to Rockets fans right now, but I still like to hear it.

Yes, its good to hear that. Anybody who knows JVG's system knows that T-Macs scoring will go down. At least he accepts it now and not halfway into the season. Him saying he's gonna bust his butt every night up and down the court is music to my ears too. I just hope he means it. I'm sure he thinks he does, but JVG might crack down harder than he expects. At least we know he has the right menality :D

    Man i just realized something.

We are all happy with the trade bringing McGrady here to Houston and we are all beyond hyped up.

But the downside, we have months before ever getting to see them play....god it's going to kill me to wait to see the rockets play this season.

Finally!!!! Goodluck to Francis, Cat, and Cato. I will keep up with them through NBA League Pass. I can't wait for the season to begin. T-Mac and Yao will be sweet to see this season. GO ROCKETS!!!!!:D

Yes, it confirms that they really didn't have the story "First on Fox". They were actually THIRD. Give 610 and CF.Net their props, dammit !!

I think this trade will really free up JJ. Look for him to produce more scoring... Plus also, having no Mobley/Francis will make passing into Ming a little easier. I think a lot of people underestimate the difference that a bit of height makes...

If you ever watched the championship series with Hakeem, Horry was the guy passing in the ball to him most of the time along with Clyde which were both tall.

It makes a big difference to see over the defense and make a good pass to Yao.

No, we're getting another Kobe Bryant. Saying that McGrady is a taller Steve Francis is like saying that Kobe Bryant is a taller Steve France. In no way, shape or form are Francis and McGrady the same type of player. As for not having any depth, do you seriously think this will be the team going into camp? And there is no way on this planet can you compare this trade to the Barkley trade. In the Barkley trade the Rockets traded a quality PG, a back-up, role-playing PF( and as good as Horry is, he is a roleplayer) and some scrap for a veteran superstar, slightly past his prime PF to make one or two runs at a title. McGrady is actually YOUNGER then Francis and is a franchise superstart who hasn't reached his prime yet, and won't for several year. On aside note, that team with Barkley won 58 games. I'd take 58 wins!
