http://www.nba.com/rockets/news/mcgrady_signing040623.html It's Official: Rockets Land McGrady Howard, Lue and Gaines also join the Rockets June 29, 2004 - Houston Rockets general manager Carroll Dawson announced today that the team has acquired two-time NBA scoring champion Tracy McGrady, forward Juwan Howard, and guards Tyronn Lue and Reece Gaines from the Orlando Magic. The Rockets sent guards Steve Francis and Cuttino Mobley and forward/center Kelvin Cato to Orlando in the seven-player trade.
Don't know if this has been said already, but Chad Ford says Tyronn Lue will not opt out of his contract at the end of next season and wants to stay with the Rockets. We need to pick up a solid starting pg and T. Lue would be an excellent backup off the bench.
HAHA... Ford is such an idiot.... he said that much of the negative criticism of the trade has died down, since it took so long...... HELLO... YOU were the one providing the negative criticism... YOU were the one saying it was a terrible deal... basically all you're saying is that "Yes... I am now okay with it, so let it happen." Hypocrite and egotistical maniac... chad ford.
Chad Ford is such a douche. "There was a lot of backlash around the league, and people thought that the rockets were ripping the magic off. Now, that has cooled in Orlando." And who was leading the charge? Mr. Chad "thats a horrible deal for the Magic" Ford.
It's on the front page of NBA.com T-Minus Zero: T-Mac a Rocket After a week of waiting, we have liftoff. Houston on Tuesday acquired two-time league-leading scorer Tracy McGrady from Orlando for fellow All-Star Steve Francis, the centerpieces of a seven-player trade. The deal also sees Cuttino Mobley and Kelvin Cato going to the Magic and Juwan Howard, Tyronn Lue and Reece Gaines coming to the Rockets. Holeee... I think I'm gonna faint...
Best of luck to Francis, Cat and Cato. I'll miss you guys and wish you the best of luck. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome aboard T-Mac! When do jerseys go on sale?
i think regardless of where shaq goes I think the NBA power does reside in Texas, you have now what are 3 contenders all in the same state. The Midwest Division winner now I feel will be the front runner for the title, imagine if the old divisions were still kept and we still had Minnesota,Denver and Utah. MY god I AM SOOOOOOOO HAPPY ITS UNBELIEVELABLE!!!!!!! I HAVENT OH MY FREAKING T-MAC AND FINALLY AH DAMN I CANT TYPE RIGHT TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD GKLGFKLGRKKL
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=1831594 SOURCES : SIDES FINALIZE FRANCIS-MCGRADY TRADE ESPN.com Steve Francis must have liked his visit to Orlando on Tuesday, because the Magic and the Rockets have finalized a trade that's been bubbling for a week. Francis, Cuttino Mobley and Kelvin Cato were sent to Orlando for Magic superstar Tracy McGrady , Juwan Howard, Reece Gaines and Tyronn Lue, sources told ESPN.com Insider. The deal is contingent on players passing physicals. An announcement is expected Wednesday afternoon, the source told Insider. It had been reported that Lue likely would have exercised his option to terminate his contract, making him ineligible for the trade and thus holding it up. But Lue has decided to remain in his contract and will play for the Rockets next season, the source told Insider.
There's a press conference being held at Toyota Center: Following the seven-player trade between the Houston Rockets and the Orlando Magic, the Rockets would like to invite the public to an introduction of their new players at Toyota Center on Wednesday. Just a by-product of a conjunction of two greater entities? Doesn't that descrie all...er...most of us?
lue is a freaking moron if he wants to opt out and try to play for another team I am damn sure that any of the main contenders for the ring will not want him on their team he really isnt that good. at best a second string pg, i probably would prefer him to be a 3rd string pg if possible but the guy is too full of himself if he thinks he can get a better deal elsewhere from what he has now. i think he just wants to play and knows he can only play if the team he is on is really that bad, ie what orlando was last year. maybe the hawks are looking
I hope that this works out. But let me tell you one thing that could be a real key here. Do you notice that Howard averages 17pts 7rebs per season? I mean, I know the teams suck where he went. But thats pretty good. GO ROCKS!!
