THANKS DD! I can't listen here in Austin, plus I'm busy at work. It's great to be able to read what they're talking about ... These interviews give WAY more valuable info than any espn, yahoo, or even chron article. Thanks again, YOU ROCK!!!!
like ariza, he only is if he's making his shots. cbud last night was not effective (but if i was coach, i would give him more minutes to catch a rhythm). he's not good enough of a playmaker where he can overcome an off shooting night. hopefully he improves in that area.
My thoughts exactly. Other than trying to milk their offseason investment, the only plausible reason I see for keeping Chase on the bench is that they're afraid he'll hit the rookie wall too soon.
+1 for that . good post. I'm sure if Chase has the ball for the amount of time Trevor has it.. better things would happen.. in fact .. I want to see how chase plays when he goes 1-on-1 ISO against a decent/good defender.. I want to see what kind of game he has.. whether he can dribble the ball without turning it over (I'm sure he is better than Ariza already) .. whether he can create for himself and create for others... for starters.. he has not shown hesitancy with regards to shooting.. and he also makes a few good passes once in a while. so confidence is not an issue and looks like RA is handling him the right way. LOTS of potential. play him more. and that's why I want Ariza on the bench for a longer period of time. or he sud stfu and play his usual role.. which can he can do wonderfully well as shown by his performance last year.
yeah, hey arent untouchable, that's why morey said they are always looking to get better no matter what...so anyone on the team can go ...i think he's just not going to actively shop those guys.
yeah but that mentality can have some bad consequences...you sink. There's no reason to put budinger in that situation because we really dont know for sure if he'll swim. He's one guy on a team of 15, so the team is first. If he's thrown out there and doesn't come through its going to affect him more mentally than if they sort of baby him like they've been doing. There's no reason to risk that on this team, especially when the staff has done well limiting guys like brooks and landry initially and then letting them blossom.
yeah, but i think morey means that they know what ariza and shane will give them, even if Bud has more potential offensively, his offense can be low or high, it's hard to make a game plan like that, as oppose to knowing what the other two will pretty much get you every game, offensively and defensively. Plus there's also the experience part, battier being here along time and ariza's playoff experience.
I think you're overrating Budinger. He's talented, definitely a second round steal, but he's not that guy who's going to be a play maker or drive by guys when he wants. He's not great with a defender on him, he's better when the ball is moving and he has space to catch and then drive. He's good on the break and shooting..but don't expect him to create for himself or others consistently, i can't really see him ever being that player, except for special circumstances when he's going against a slower/taller player.
Do you think that's a good news for the rockets? The rockets will sign another star wing if Tmac cannot back to all-star level.
last time I checked Ariza makes 30+ mil/ 5 yrs....when Chase makes maybe 1-2 mil so they going to give Ariza more minutes
The only problem with that is I see Battier having more off nights than on nights. If this is an experimental year, C-Bud should be giving a chance to start, play minutes and see what the kid can do.
I admit I have not seen Chase play too much. I have caught him most often on the games he has been doing well. and I am gonna take whatever you say as true because you are one of the good ones on this board. My point is.. when Morey/Rick give SO MUCH freedom to Ariza to do whatever he wants on the offensive end.. why not Chase? I might be over-rating him surely.. but my point is .. from little I've seen.. he seems to be a good rookie project who has the skill set to become a really good piece. I am just wondering why his role is pretty restricted. and I am also worried abt how the team is going to adjust with Yao next year. its gonna be a totally different ball game ... and players will struggle (Atleast initially) to play through Yao all the time.
love how Ariza slows the game down to try to create for himself. T-mac isn't the one we should worry about. Bench Riz boy and start Chase, who actually plays the offense.
