If it were Daniels, doesn't that mean the Sonics would be in dire need of a PG?? did I miss them signing someone? Weren't they going after Fisher? I guess they could be putting all their faith in Ridnour now, but it seems like it might be a little early for that, and wouldn't they still need a backup?
Chicago has 3 points guards. Kirk Hinrich Ben Gordon Chris Duhon and a 4th Jason Williams Perhaps we are trying to trade for one of these
How about free agents likes...... Bob Sura Lindsey Hunter Keyon Dooling Have they all signed with someone else?
My sleepers: 1.) Frank Williams- Young (24), cheap contract, good defender, good size, 2/1 AST/TO, put up pretty nice numbers in the 3 games he started (3-0 W-L, 12.7 ppg, 5.3 apg, .577 FG%, .545 3P%, 2 spg, 35+mpg) He was rumored to potentially be a part of a couple Knick deals, who of course don't need him because of Marbury and Moochie. The Rockets can help the Knicks broker their deal for Crawford and/or the Vince Carter deal they are supposedly a part of. 2.) Alvin Williams- Huge size (6-5), very defender, takes care of the ball. Huge contract (4 yrs, ~6 mill), and injury questions. Toronto may be rebuilding and would want to get rid of his contract. Career 3/1 AST/TO. My gut is on Daniels, though.
We all thought the Rockets had targeted Barry because of the Rocky Mountain News. If I'm not mistaken that was the only paper to say the Rox made an offer and everyone else was just quoting them. Then when Barry signed with SA., ESPN said that the Rockets were pursuing Daniels through a trade. Then there's the article saying Seattle is talking to Fisher. Now, tonight at 11pm FA signings can begin, Fisher signs with the Sonics and Rockets work some kind of trade to bring in Daniels and we all know by Thursday.
I like Slim Shady a lot but I don't know if I would want him as my full time 1. I think I would rather have him backing up the 1 and 2 spots
Only kirk does it for me on that list but I dout if Chicago will let him go. Ben Gordon is not a true PG. Duhon is just another Duke PG.
I would love to have Kirk Hinrich, Antonio Daniels, or Bob Sura. Sura's probably more of a backup at this point. Does anybody know how old he is? But that guy had a great run at the end of the season with Atlanta, showed he can still play.
Daniels with his #1 ranking in assist to TO ratio would almost single-handedly fix what ailed the Rocks most last year. However, he is less battle-tested than Snow, who I think is uderrated on this board despite the albatross of a contract. If we end up with Daniels OR Snow, I think we will be top 5 in the West, barring injuries.
If it is a trade then it the possibilities expand exponentially. Hinrich? A or F Williams? Atkins? Dixon? Dre (does not fit Nugs' wants for uptempo)? NVE? Ollie? If a trade it doesn't have to be 'just for a 1'.
What about a sign and trade: Houston signs Fisher and then trades him to Seattle for Daniels & James maybe?
based on the criteria of "value", as stated by jvg, snow should be out, especially with the length of that K. I'd much rather move one of our pf's than use the te, but it is what it is. I'll take daniels.
I think this will all be settled within 24 hours. I'd also bet that the Chronicle knows who it is, and will run with the story in tomorrow's paper. What time does Berman come on?
If CD is using the trade exception, it'll be to a team that needs to dump salary. It's looking more and more like Snow in Houston.
... was listening to LA's 690 xtra sports radio around 3p CST, and they said that Portland was offering Derek Fisher 9 mil a year, and that's where they thought he was going. They said it was all over the news. I haven't found it anywhere to corroborate, so I have no idea if its true, just what they said. The only things I've seen is that he was visiting Seattle this weekend. Just thought it was interesting ... I doubt we're getting Fisher.
