    I have a simple question...

    So if we do any type of trade with Seattle, we will still have the Mid-Level Exception to sign anyone that is left?

    If that's the case, a smart move by the Rockets, people are getting mad like we are having a bad offseason...

    Hey, we've got this trade exception and we should use it. It's the largest in the league, as far as I know, and was a great part of the whole Rice/Spazz deal. If we don't use it, I'm going to be ticked off big time. This is a golden opportunity to revamp a large part of the team. Let Seattle or whomever use it as a salary dump. Cool. But lets get us some players and improve the Rocks.

    Nick would help this team a lot in the short term, maybe not the long term but I kinda like to see him as a Rocket.

    I still think we have the inside track on D Fish...I've followed this guy's career pretty closely and he seems like the kind who puts a premium on winning, and being a big contributor towards that. He'd love to go to a team with serious championship aspirations so that he could go down as one of the all-time clutch playoff performers.

    So if he doesn't stay with the Lakers, and the Spurs are not calling, I think the Rox have a great chance. I would be shocked if he went to Portland, Seattle or any scrub team like that. The guy wants to be part of a winning group...you all remember when he and Kobes were crying after the loss to the Spurs last season?

    Just read that Clippers are willing to let go off a few good folks like Wilcox and Melvin Ely to accomodate Kobe as the Cap came in lower than expected

    Actually, ESPN SPECULATED that they COULD use those two guys to get themselves to $14+ million under the cap to sign Kobe. They were speculating as to players that MIGHT get dealt if the Clips had a legit shot at Bryant.

    They didn't say they would be willing to let them go, just that their salaries fit the numbers the Clippers needed to match.

    BIG difference.
