All I know is he better not be asking JVG for a blow during a game this season. And the suckers on this board that bought his personal issue BS, yeah we should expurgate the below in the interests of Bonzi's privacy.

    Jeff,

Those are fine sentiments. You are showing even-handedness and maturity in dealing with this situation.

Might as well go ahead and ban yourself now, because there is no room for those qualities on the BBS.

He should play Thursday according to JVG in the Chron. I think they should throw him out there(at least on Thursday) and when he gets tired let him rest and then throw him back out there. He would probably get in shape real fast if he played in back to back games but JVG wants him to partake in some practices first as you mentioned. There is not a better time to practice ro get in shape than against NBA level opposing competition. I will be really mad if he doesn't play Thursday like you say. Just throw him out there please JVG.

I agree, I don't think Bonzi is as big of a headcase or slacker as some of the people point out here. Of course he is not the most coachable or best teammate but he is obviously not as bad as he used to be. There are occasions where he hurt his Memphis team due to outbursts but I do not think that will be the case here as it wasn't in Sacramento last year. The main thing I am worried about with Bonzi is him getting in trouble for doing something illegal outside of the basketball court. When it comes to Bball and his new teammates and coach I think he will be fine. I think he has matured in that area of his life. I am pretty sure he will never mature off the basketball court and that is what scares me. I can't see it now, "Bonzi Wells arrested for having 1,000 lbs. of mar1juana in his trunk with a loaded weapon w/ no license in his Escalade." Well let's just hope he has matured enough to not get caught! :)

When you get as old as I it WILL all feel new again. And again. And again.

Easter, and hiding your own Easter eggs? yeah, that's the best.

I think its a little funny how my comments on this very subject went practically ignored several days ago and now everyone's jumped on the bandwagon... oh well, better late than never. The Rockets need to trade Bonzi for someone who can actually contribute and is NOT a headcase.

I think some of you forgot that Les Alexander put a muzzle on JVG and negative comments for this year. There's no way JVG thinks that Wells blowing off preseason as something other people might need is a good excuse. JVG's biting his tongue because he was told too.

what JVg need to so is knowing this is a big year for wells, he needs to make wells work hard on getting his dream contract next season with whoever. don't automatically insert him into the starting lineup. make him earn that spot. place him as the 6th man off the bench. If he proven that he can play along with Yao and tmac, then he's a starter.

I doubt wells will be playing great during the reg season, as one he will try to avoid injuries and second his biggest bang for the bucks is his post season performance.

i think he will be teh 6th man, and then a starter in post season.

I agree with Ill-Skillz - I don't think it would be out of character for JVG to tell a guy privately that he was "excused" until he decided that he was committed to the team again, especially for a guy like Wells.

that picture made its way to SR610 in the morning, the guys were in panic mode thinking," if youve taken time off for personal issues why are you at the club?"I was relieved to hear later in the day that bonzi was back and didnt pull a dave chapelle.

Hmm, I can agree with that. Actually, amongst many speculations, this one makes the most sense.

Bonzi didn't want to say anything, except "now I am back, happy, and ready".
And JVG didn't want to say anything. If it is something in the family, they would just say it frankly, like Luther Head's situation.

But then again, Bonzi sounds as defiant as ever. You'd think if he got disciplinary action, he would be a bit more modest.
