Mark and Adam interviewed Rudy T on the Morning Show yesterday on Sports Radio 610. Didn't see it posted yet. <embed src= "http://www.odeo.com/flash/audio_player_standard_gray.swf" quality="high" width="300" height="52" allowScriptAccess="always" wmode="transparent" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" flashvars= "valid_sample_rate=true&external_url=http://podcast.sportsradio610.com/kilt2/1962599.mp3" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"> </embed>
I listened it to it live yesterday morning. You can tell Rudy T has the right perspective when he looks back on his championship years. He notes how great coaches and players like Sloan, Stockton, Malone, Barkley, etc. have not won any championships. I like how he said his trophies get "shinier" every year. He said he did not get a Lakers championship ring last year despite being a Lakers employee and scout. What's that all about? Do scouts normally not get rings when their team wins it all?
Great interview by Rudy T. No one has ever worked as hard for the Houston Rockets as him. Love him to the core.
Thanks for posting, durvasa. I heard he was gonna be on, but I missed it. One of the best moments of my life as a Rockets fan was last year when I was headed into a game at TC and randomly caught Rudy as he was exiting out of one of the side doors of the building. I was the first person to see him and he walked right by me, so I said "Hey, Rudy" and he said "hey, how are you?". I told him I was good, shook his hand, and said "thanks for everything". I'm so glad I got to do that, considering him all those 90's Rockets were my childhood heroes.
rudy is one of the greatest rockets period. one of my favorite moments at a basketball game ever was seeing rudy at a laker game a few years ago (he was a scout for them right?). PS - ron artest gave away free tickets to a sparks game, and my friend and i went b/c she won 2 tickets through his twitter haha. jokingly i told ron when i saw him, "yo ron, you gonna get a lakers haircut?" he said, "hell yes"
Thanks for sharing. Not surprisingly, Rudy said a lot of nice things about Yao, saying he's a very good human-being and stuff. And I was just aware that he is the only player in Rudy era who is still in the current Rockets team.
Sadly, Rudy has outlived a couple of players from his last couple of teams-- Griffin and Collier. Seems like a long time ago now.
Yup, he's the last of the pure Rockets chosen by Rudy. Coincidence he's the best Rocket and best player on our team.
