Yes, DD, I think we can run and gun and hustle like crazy and surprise a lot of people this year. Conroy AND Pops can help us do that. I'd never disrespect our players by suggesting we're inevitably lottery-bound.

Lowry hasn't been a sterling example of health.

He tore his ACL and missed 6 weeks in his 1st year at Villanova.
He broke his wrist and missed 72 games in his rookie season.

He's been pretty healthy for the last 2 years though. Maybe his luck has changed or it could be a fluke.

I am not giving up eman, just saying that the chances of winning the ring this year are fairly low and Morey's job is to build for the future.....and when Yao comes back, this team is ready.....

So, I think this year is a wash...etc.

Joey Dorsey was the third best rebounder in preseason this year...

    That's pretty good...

Yeah, but its about all he did well, and it was in limited minutes. And he fouled like crazy.

his weakside impact was less than i thought it would be considering his defensive instincts and athleticism, and he was worse in transition than i expected. but his on-ball defense wasn't terrible imo.

his role consists of only a few things. defend the paint, rebound, and get in transition. just like pops. its just that pops did much better in the dorsey role than dorsey did, with the exception of post d.

He didn't seem very effective on his post D to me.

I didn't know that about Lowry's earlier health. Thanks. :)

But my point remains intact. When/if one of our point guards go down, we will most likely be able to make a roster cut or move to free up a spot to sign Conroy (or another PG). But doing that now while our 2 PGs are healthy removes our flexibility to be in a stronger position to contend near the trade deadline. The move will almost certainly be there later, so why pay for it now with our flexibility?

Keeping Dorsey and Cook's contracts on the books is a smart thing to do for now.

i'd say he's inexperienced but is developing pretty well in that role. certainly his upside there (even if we just talk about potential development this season) is better than anyone else there not named chuck hayes.

scola is decent, carl is iffy, pops is too slight, and andersen is a limp noodle. who else can you go to on the post? is it worth putting scola or landry in that position when you know it'll eat up their energy and fouls?
