We got better PF's than Lee now. I'm bummed about missing out on Monta Ellis.

Lee is still better than Landry atm. Certainly way better than Luther! and he filled a desperate need.

I don't know if our system will be good for Monta's style though. I think he fits an uptempo team more.

David Lee is among the best rebounders in the whole league and a 60%+ true shooting percentage...

But our PF is sorted atm...although it could have been sorted much earlier...

Long Time Fan's suggestion is interesting to say the least...

Though it'd be better if they were willing to take Landry instead of Scola.

I've watched quite a bit of Jerryd Bayless in college, and I think he's the real deal. This guy never stops attacking and is just talented at scoring the ball. The question is, does he have enough of a playmaking game to excel at the next level as a PG, rather than as a combo guard?

Just a thought...BJax expiring contract is almost identical to Brian Cardinals contract.

and as much as I really like Scola...I would trade him plus the Steve Francis expiring contract to Memphis for Mike Miller.

That would in essence be Scola, Francis, BJax for Cardinal, Miller and #5 pick.

That would leave our line up pretty much like last year except of course Landry would be our starter at the PF instead of Scola.

    are u crazy?

Landry starting over scola? I don't think so. at least not until landry proven himself on the court. Landry is a beast but he still hasn't proven yet that he can be the starter on this team. His defense is still not as good or polished as scola.

Brian Cardinals - I went to school with that dude at Purdue in same class. He was a above average hustle guy with ok defense (likes to take charges), kind of like Battier, except without any offensive weapons. ok on the FT line. I think his best years were in college and he has decreased his value eversince he stepped on the NBA court. played some ok games during his contract year and that's it. Not worth the 6-8 millions, a dead weight on the bench.

I would get a proven player instead of a rookie at this point. we have no time to wait 1 or 2 yrs for him to develop.

This is one of the better trade proposals on the board. I like Scola but if you have the opportunity to get a #5 pick and Mike Miller for him you jump on it fast. Landry/Hayes is a decent combo and I have a great deal of faith that Morey would hit on the 5th pick. Miller solves a huge hole in our championship aspirations. He is a great outside shooter with size and can provide offense when T-Mac is resting.

If Mayo is still available at 5, then the Rockets do whatever possible to get him. Otherwise, don't bother.

Or Hayes would start. Or, if we drafted K-Love, he could eventually start.

I heard this was true. And that Miami was looking to trade down with the TWolves for #3 so they can take Mayo there. So no possibility for us getting him, if we do get #5, even if they dont get the trade theyll pick him with #2. I say we through 3 or 4 players at Memphis to get rid of cap space and we get our PG of the future. Eric Gordon, Jaryd Bayless, or Russell Westbrook. I say pull the trigger Rox get something done. Please Im begging you. And I never beg.

I pity whatever team wastes a lottery pick on Kevin Love.

Yes but now we have a smart GM. Who can sift through the talent and get the best player possible if we keep #25. And even if we move up.

Wow, Memphis is officially the most retarted team in this league if they decide to deal it to Knicks for a single-dimension David Lee and a oldass Malik Rose for Brian Cardinal and #5

I would also be pissed if Blazers got ahold of the pick

Well, if not Love, I'm just saying, a power forward. You could even trade the #5 and fall back in the draft to get what you want.

None of this is likely anyway.

Rockets trade Battier, Jackson, Brooks, 1st pick, 2nd pick
Blazers trade Outlaw and 1st pick
Grizz trade 1st pick and Cardinal

    Rockets get 5th and Outlaw
Grizz get 13th, 25th and Jackson
Blazers get Battier Brooks 2nd pick

Grizz get out of Cardinals contract faster and recieve two draft picks for one. They believe they can get someone they need at 13 just the same as 5. Now they could potentally land Rush and CDR to fill a void if Miller is traded

Blazers get defense and a pg

I know some of this is old. Anyhow, I pulled some quotes of the latest Sporting News.com mock draft:

    http://www.sportingnews.com/yourturn/viewtopic.php?t=427359

The 5th pick might be in play, and we could get it if we wanted it bad enough, but we won't want it bad enough to pay what it will take. I'd say we have a 5% chance of pulling it off.

13th or 14th are more reasonable. I'd say, 50% chance we can come up with something like that.

I don't see the Rockets taking Hibbert, unless they think he is much better than whoever is left. Center isn't that high of a priority. On this particular mock draft, CDR gets picked 2 slots later. It would really surprise me to see them pass up CDR for Hibbert.
