Total Film has taken a poll and assembled a list of the Top 50 most disappointing movies of all time - films for which there was a certain or even considerable amount of expectation and which, frankly, turned out to be fairly terrible.

1.Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull (2008) - Did anyone expect great things? Only disappointing as a scar on an otherwise great movie series

2.Star Wars: Episode One - The Phantom Menace (2001) - Absolutely

3.X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) - Yep

4.The Godfather Part 3 (1990) - Haven't seen

5.Spider-Man 3 (2007) - Topher Grace as Venom

6.The Hangover Part 2 (2011) It was exactly as expected

7.Sucker Punch (2011) Haven't seen

8.Superman Returns (2006) It was decent enough

9.The Matrix Revolutions (2003) Disagree

10.Ocean's 12 (2004) Haven't seen

11.Eyes Wide Shut (1999) p*rn for those with parental blockers

12.Terminator Salvation (2009) Bale as Connor was a mistake from the beginning

13.Green Lantern (2011) Yep

14.Quantum Of Solace (2009) Completely asinine, definitely among the better Bond movies, as Craig has been brilliant

15.Fantastic Four (2005) If it wasn't for how much worse the 2nd one was, then yes. Johnny, Thing, & Reid were all solidly cast though, IMO

16.The Golden Compass (2007) Never seen

17.Planet Of The Apes (2001) Remakes usually disappoint, and this was no different. Of course the original's shock value can never be recreated.

18.Alien 3 (1992) Haven't seen

19.Batman and Robin (1997) Tim Burton's were solid. Moving from those darker movies to the kiddy versions was brutal for adults. Chris O'Donnell? Seriously? George Clooney? This isn't sounding like Batman.

20.Troy (2004) Very good movie. Rape of a great story/history, but doesn't ruin the movie.

21.Kill Bill Part 2 (2004) WTF? Got to be kidding

22.Iron Man 2 (2010) No chance at living up to the original, but a good movie, just not great like the 1st.

23.Prometheus (2012) Probably deserves to be here, but only from unfair hype. On its own as a sci-fi movie, it had moments.

24.Jersey Girl (2004) I liked it. I didn't know of it until it was on HBO already

25.Southland Tales (2006) Never heard of it

26.Godzilla (1998) Not surprising, but deserving.

27.Miami Vice (2006) People watched this?

28.Hulk (2003) Haven't watched

29.The League of Gentlemen's Apocalypse (2005) Never heard of this

30.X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) Pointless money grab. Okay movie, but pointless.

31.The Spirit (2008) Didn't watch

32.Catwoman (2004) Stupidity from the beginning

33.Vanilla Sky (2001) Didn't watch

34.Alice In Wonderland (2010) Depends on who you are. Certainly interesting

35.The Day After Tomorrow (2004) Haven't seen

36.Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End (2007) I don't remember it that well, which says all that needs to be said

37.Once Upon A Time In Mexico (2004) Haven't seen

38.Sex And The City 2 (2010) I have a penis, and not gay

39.The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003) Can't imagine it being good, so didn't watch

40.Jennifer's Body (2009) Never heard of

41.Public Enemies (2009) Didn't see

42.Alexander (2004) Colin Farrel lead role, not surprised, but didn't see

43.Ghostbusters 2 (1989) Another sequel that failed to live up to original

44.The Avengers (1998) Never heard off

45.The Lady In The Water (2006) Didn't watch

46.The Lovely Bones (2009) Never heard of

47.Speed Racer (2008) Who didn't see that coming?

48.Shrek The Third (2007) A whole series that got worse with each movie

49.Congo (1995) The one with the gorilla? Been too many years

50.The Tourist (2010) Haven't seen

this list is r****ded. Salvation was good. T3 was the dissapointment and they failed to include that?

As a child of the 80's, Transformers (live action version) was truly disappointing.

28 Weeks Later was also severely disappointing.
