Na..if you read some of the earlier posts and some reviews on the net...he generated alot of buzz for himself on the underground scene in NYC...alot like Nas, DMX, Shyne..... They did really well for themselves by performing unsigned for along time. They get a ton of hype when the time comes for them to actually choose a label and in these cases I'd say rightfully so. Has anyone heard rumors that The Roots are backing Eminem for his Oscars performance?
Get Rich Or Die Trying is the best rap album that I've ever bought. In Da Club, What's Up Gangsta, and Patiently Waiting are my three favorite songs now.
Yeah, I can't stand Ja Rule and think he, like everyone else in the rap game, needs to stop getting his collab on. The cliches are growing tiresome. I have not heard 50 Cent's full-length album, but I thought he was one of the brighter spots on the 8 Mile Soundtrack album. Isn't he the one that rapped, "I ain't gonna front, I thought R. Kelly was the sh*t...then we find out he's f*ckin' around with Lil' Bow Wow's b****..." and "My back's shot to help Ashanti hit them high notes..." Classic.
Yea, that's him. He also said ... "D'Angelo, he's determined not to fail, that n**** went butt a$$ for his record to sale." ... I think another reason 50 is hot right now is because he's one of the few rappers that are not out rapping about how much money, whips, and hoes they have. He also has a street rep that preceeds him. It's not hard to imagine that most of the stuff he's rapping about he's actually done. You just can't say that about most of the rap artist out now.
50 doesn't rap about cars and hoes, then what I am seeing on his videos, what does he mean when he says "you never cop nothing", I swear, I don't know what you guys are listening to sometimes.
