I remember when creative differences in bands broke them up and may end in a yelling match or, VERY rarely, a fistfight. Usually, it was just some backstabbing in the music scene with each bad-mouthing the other. But, shooting? Seriously?

When I translated the article, I intentionally didn't use the word "band" and said "group" instead. To me, when there's a band, at least one person is capable of playing a musical instrument.

You stole that line from 'Coming to America'. Just substitute Curtis for Clay. :D

    RAP.

these guys dont know any other way of settling their differences. let em all kill each other off so i dont have to hear about this stupid, stupid **** anymore. it's sad knowing so many people actually but their albums thinking it's good "music." and even worse knowing so many kids try and emulate these clowns, especially suburban white kids.

all the while truly talented groups like the Roots, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Tribe, etc. get little to no respect in the mainstream.

Exactly, many of the artists in R&B and rap aint worth shhhhh. They are pimping the youth while being pimped themselves by the record companies.

Why is it especially sad that suburban white kids try to emulate these acts, why couldn't it just be kids period? I like how a lot of posters on here act like rap is the only music genre full of no-talent acts when the truth is every music genre is full of them just like every music genre has negative things happen, they may not get posted here but they do happen too.

You forgot Rakim and OutKast. OutKast is the one group that makes excellent music that gets respect and is in the mainstream as well.

well the list could go on and on, especially when you get into the old school guys.

Outkast is on a different level, musically speaking, than any other hip-hop/rap group out there. definitely should've mentioned them. they are true innovators, that's for sure.

Timbaland is the most innovative producer out there. Pharrell and Dr. Dre get more publicity but Timbaland's futuristic beats are amazing. Sometimes, I wonder what makes him think of those beats. Organized Noise makes OutKast's beats, nobody realls knows about them, but they're responsible for some of the best music of the last decade.

Wow.....I must be getting old. I've read this thread title for the past few days and just assumed it was about a video game that 50 cent was going to be in. I've never even heard of a guy name "The Game."

Game is a rapper from Compton, California who Dr. Dre was intrigued with a few years back. He was a forgotten man until 50 Cent stepped in and helped record some 9 new tracks for the album and put him in the G-Unit as well. Obviously he said something disrespectful to Mr. Cent and now he's been booted out of the G-Unit. I'd like to think his career is pretty much over now.
