They say it was just a personal vendetta. If it was a vendetta, why did he stab a random woman and a construction worker he had never met before?

Because that has worked so well. The government can't provide training or licensing for ****. They suck. Incredibly dumb (compared to a human) AI in autonomous cars will be at least 10 times safer than an average licensed certified driver. Most of your positions are based on REALLY bad science. You want to lower population despite standard of living increasing with population. You want to to emulate a licensing standard that has completely failed. examine your positions with logic. Think about what would actually be better for people. Also learn the meaning of strawman, the things I listed int he china thread actually happen and the term strawman doesn't fit at all in that context lol.

How do you know it has completely failed. How do you what the accident rate would have been without a licencing system? Pure conjecture.

It just seems like a very big coincidence in terms of the choice of attack weapon that this is happening with a knife when there is currently so much propaganda of interested parties that encourages people who self-identify with their ideology to commit knife attacks.

Seems like some people are trying very quickly to assure everyone that it "must be a personal vendetta" although there is absolutely no evidence for that. I guess it doesn't fit some people's narrative that the motivation could be something more obvious.

I live in CA and am headed to this campus next Monday. I haven't seen anyone using the "personal vendetta" language out here yet, but maybe I'm not following the appropriate news outlets? The articles I've read said they are investigating the individual and trying to learn whatever they can.

Clearly, there are people who would love to make this about ISIS, and if the kid was motivated by them, we'll probably figure it out. One tweet from a sick **** elsewhere doesn't sufficiently connect the dots for me yet, sorry. Of course, ISIS would love to claim credit for crap like this.

Pretty simple and indisputable. Folks go crazy sometimes and try to kill people. Only in America, where the gun industry and their loyal dupes rule, do those who go crazy succeed in mass killings.

Australia with the gun/ Wild West culture got tired of the mass killings, and enacted strict gun laws therebye ending the mass killings.

The only people who kill with guns are either crazy or Muslim. One of two.

I really do think though that a gun license should require a psych evaluation every 2 years, at least one safety course and a de escalation training or whatnot , and a required insurance program to pay for the deaths of people killed from gun violence overall. I also think that smart gun technology should be promoted for home guns to prevent kids and burglars from using guns. And finally, concealed hand guns and automatic weapons should be more strictly regulated.

I figured you were talking about health insurance, in case you are injured. What other kind of insurance do you mean.

    Oh, that's cool.

I meant something specific to owning a firearm. I have to have insurance for my car, largely in case it injures someone or their property. I hate paying for it, but I have no choice b/c the government requires it. The good part is I know "good behavior" (no accidents) can gradually reduce my rate, etc.

Right now we have to have health insurance and car insurance. So some people are suggesting firearm insurance. I don't know it if would work, and I'm sure legions of people would be against it. But it would be cool if there were more incentive for people to properly train themselves and their children, to properly store their weapons, and so forth.

On the current topic, I know a person working in the building where the knifing happened. Apparently the perp really did have a note in his pocket about getting kicked out of a study group. So damned crazy.

Anyway, I'm out. Cheers, falcons, and thanks for the dialogue.

oh ok I got ya. Makes sense too, but I think it would be hard to enforce and only target legally registered gun owners.

I think there should be tougher consequences for illegally possessing a firearm, but the trend right now is to release noviolent criminals due to overcrowding, so I doubt that would even be considered.
