5 guys fighting for 2 roster spots... who gets cut?

How soon can Jason Terry be traded, by himself? And how soon can he be traded in combination with other Rockets players?

And what is Donatas Motiejunas' trade value, if/when it appears that he will be displaced in the rotation by players such as Jeff Adrien, Robert Covington, Kostas Papanikolaou, and Joey Dorsey?

And how about Isaiah Canaan's trade value, particularly if/when it appears that Ish Smith is a perfectly solid backup PG, and/or that Nick Johnson is as good if not better than Canaan?

Anyway, I expect for one or more of the presumed shoo-ins to make the final fifteen man roster to get cut. Josh Powell is a goner, but, after trades are executed, it would not surprise me if Ish Smith AND Robert Covington AND Jeff Adrien AND Francisco Garcia to be on the final fifteen man roster.

I agree with you. Our PF spot is weak, Adrein will help on defense, rebounding and get some points around the basket.

 

I'm still under the belief that a trade can/will happen.

 

I think Adrien makes but I'd rather have Smith over Garcia. Just not a big fan especially when he couldn't hit crap last year.

 

The Sixers just drafted both K.J. McDaniels and Jerami Grant with high second round picks, both of whom play the same position as Covington and both of whom are viewed by most as better prospects than Covington.

Why would the Sixers give up a second round pick for a guy who'd be that deep down the depth chart in Philly?

adrien is a lock after this past season and rockets needing more defense. after him, garcia makes the most sense but if canaan gets injured for awhile or cant cut it as the backup pg then rockets will have a big hole to fill. johnson will be a dleaguer, terry is done and only here to match contracts. maybe overplay bev and when eh's on the bench play harden at pg. work outt he defensive assignments of course, dont want harden to score 25+ and defend the opposing pgs

 

I mean, why is DMo not on a hot table? Last season he was in 'trade me, I want out' mood, its his last year and we&he wont sign another contract for over 3M/year. We can get first rounder at ease for 7footer

 

Why is Dorsey a lock to make the squad?

 

Because he's a lot better than everyone on the list above. Pretty straightforward.

I think canaan, johnson or daniels, and jones will be shipped for an upgrade.

 

Would love to keep to Cov but just don't see it happening.

Adrien will likely make the team b/c I remember McHale was impressed by him in the tail end of the season from what I've read. Garcia is probably the other guy to make it.

In an ideal world we could keep Adrien/Garcia/Ish/Cov :/

 

DMO needs to prove that he can stay out of foul trouble before he will given that big of a role

 

technically the closest thing to a backup center for rockets. clint is a rookie, powell is at the end of his career.

 

Powell is 31 and can still play 2 or 3 years. Dorsey is 30. Adrien 28.

A legit question is how many undersized veterans the team wants to carry.
