    given the way pitchfork went from something you mocked to something you worshiped in approximately 45 seconds, i'm guessing you'll be buying skinny jeans this afternoon. :grin:

    I'm glad to see so many people sharing my hate for the movie Crash. I can't say enough about the suckage of that movie.

    Eh, I get that. The thing with that movie is, don't watch it if you're expecting a "war" movie with lots of great combat scenes, because that's really not what it's about. It's about how the war affects the people in a typical small industrial town.

    Cimino really goes to great lengths to contrast the town before and after the war. That's why the opening wedding scene is SO long. He really wants you to understand effect of the war on the town, it's people, their personalities and relationships with each other. And to do that, he has to show you how great things were before the war and how bad they were after it.

    That's really the point of the movie and I think if you go in with that mindset (and about 3 hours to spare), you'll enjoy it a lot more. Give it another shot.
