Depending on what state you live in, if you have not registered, you will not be able to vote.

nice work basso, on voting I mean.

Took me an unprecedented 45 minutes in SF just now.

This whole "voting irregularity" thing is going to be very painful on MSM today, as they have NOTHING else to do until polls close. Ugh.

I already checked, and I am registered. So I just need ID of some sort?

Here in Indiana we have voter verification law and you need to bring a government issued id with picture (driver license, passport, student id with photos, etc).

In most states you don't even need photo ID. You just tell them your name and address, sign the voter roll and vote.

People who have done their homework basso. Not losers whose universe is FREEPER forums. I'll post more on the Republican history of making voting less accessible later - suffice it to say it's long and distinguished - and recent.

Basso - you don't deserve a substantive response here. But you have been given one many times over.

Every one of your points up there has been addressed.

Many posters (and commentators) - many of whom are far more patient and polite than I - have put in time and effort exploring the ACORN issue on a substantive level to see if it holds water on this BBS and in the public discussion.

The Department of Justice has had loyal Republican prosecutors devote millions of dollars and years of effort explore this very issue.

Sufffice it to say there are severe problems with the your theory - to put it mildly, yet your rote non-response to these issues is basically just act like a giant douchebag and post some crap you read on a right wing blog that does not even attempt to discuss this. Look at your crappy ACORN nevada thread - you just use it as a data dump to piss people off. Really lame.

Now you are delightfully bringing up ACORN, the fearsome organization of poor black voters. You happen to do this as somebody who likes to bring up Jeremiah Wright at every opportunity. As somebody who likes to post in fake ebonics on occasion. As somebody who has repeatedly tried to blame the crisis on wall street on the blacks, fannie & freddie despite the fact that the cornerstone of this theory is nonexistent.

I suspect our objective, much like your ideological running buddy the Trader, is of course to get somebody to link these things to together so that they can accuse you of racism - so that you can BRISTLE at the charge, while eye-winkily RUFFLING FEATHERS.

I guess you think this is funny, I think it just makes you a loser. And since we have demonstrated many times over you take your BBS duties *very seriously* - I would expect taht this damage to your rep would be important to you.

There were some funny kids at the middle school next to my place this morning. "Vote for Obama! McCain gon' die!" One chubby kid was doing a school project and got yelled at for bringing a camcorder into the polling area. He interviewed me and asked why I'm voting.

My favorite ballot initiative was the one to rename the Oceanside Water Pollution Plant as the George W. Bush Sewage Treatment Plant. Aside from that, I voted down every piece of spending on the ballot including some ridiculous $10B project to build out commuter rail between SD, LA, and the Bay Area.

I voted against all that spending too. AND I voted against renaming that plant; the workers are against it!

Would you not vote for a proposition that said no more propositions? The California system is so dumb.

Alan Keyes. :) Just kidding, Obama all the way.

The California system is a joke. The state is bankrupt and they want to add more ridiculous spending to the budget. By the way, I did vote for renaming the plant. : ) In all it took about 20 minutes just to get through all the garbage on the ballot.

Way too many propositions and proposals. They only had 1 electronic voting machine in my precinct. Maybe they should add a proposition to buy some electronic machines instead of the awkward way of filling in the arrow ( - ->).

As promised basso - here is an example of things you do not know that others do know:

After Delaying Early Voting, Indiana Republicans Oppose Extension

Voting extended over Republican objections (NC)

Props to Charlie Crist for extending hours over Republican objections (FL)

Democrats call for extended hours over Republican objection (OH)

I'm guessing you learned this from the FREEPER forums. Anyway can you link me to the decisions? I would like to see them.

As you found out this morning - urban areas, which tend to lean democratic - naturally tend to have more need for extended hours.

Could you please provide some context or evidence for your implication here?

    Thank you my friend! :)

ah, i see you found some anecdotes- wonderful! my point was that republicans don't support limiting voting hours as a matter of principle, but then, you surely knew that. i could, based on today's evidence, just as easily say democrats are in favor of voter intimidation and fraud- wouldn't you agree?
