I drove through nickel-sized hail in Bellaire (around Bellaire Blvd. and Newcastle) at 5:45 PM yesterday on my way home.

I was pissed...I just got the rolling party palace out of the body shop, and it's fully pimped out, and as I drove through the shizznit yesterday, I had an image of my car turning into a golf ball with divots in it.

But no...no body damage. Freaky to see hail in Texas in May.

I was driving down hammerly between 610 and the beltway and I got pretty badly. like rmtex said, nickle sized. I'm thirty one and I remember some hail storms but that was pretty bad.

austin can get some nasty storms. I remember one year I was driving up there in 97 for the Texas relays in my little toyota truck at night and it started raining pretty badly and the rain appeared to be red. when I got up there they said the storm had picked up some red dust from east texas. it was really surreal because it was accompanied by an electrical storm when I got there.

weather feels great this morning, though. 65-ish and blue skies.... nice drive to work with the windows rolled down listening to some allman brothers.
