Definitely agree. I don't know if the Lakers are willing to run pressure a full 48 minutes, though. For all the talk about the Lakers great team during the season, Kobe is the only player that can score consistently against the Rockets team defense. I think Phil is reluctant to pressure the Rockets for more than a quarter to keep Kobe fresh. I don't count Gasol's 4th quarter as being very representative of the Rockets defense.
They were playing sloppy in the 4th. That's the main reason. I am pretty sure Adelman is prepared for them to cheat off Hayes. The key is Brooks. If he can get to the paint and SEE Hayes cutting to the basket, it will make them pay. Hayes used to score about 3 layups a game before we got Scola and Landry. That's because TMac could hit him under the basket consistently. Hayes is a smart cutter and knows where to position himself to give the offense maximum help with his very limited offensive skills.
It would be silly for players to play 48 minutes of full court pressure. Did you see how tired the Lakers were towards the end of the game? This type of game plan would just kill the Lakers towards the end of the game.
Chuck has great lateral movement, and can jump and contest shots. If Gasol is trying to shoot 12-15 foot jumpers over Hayes all night, I can live with that. Just nothing down low, nothing at the rack.
