Cam is shooting 53% from 3 in his three summer league games with Memphis. (9-17)

We could have had the "New Splash Bros" if we kept that 2nd round pick and added him with Reed

We have Holiday who shot 40% from 3 in the NBA, not SL.

We didn't give the pick up for Holiday. We gave it up for AJ Griffin. I was hoping AJ still remembered how to shoot, but I don't like what I'm seeing compared to what I know Cam Spencer can provide as far as shooting.

I know I'm just saying that to address your "splash bros comment". Shooting against SL scrub doesnt mean he can go off in the NBA. Wing is our deepest position can you see Cam Spencer getting PT over Brooks, Whitmore, Green and Tari? I don't.

AJ Griffin is a former lotto pick and younger than Cam Spencer. Even if you give him 2 yrs to develop his shot back up he'll still be younger than Cam Spencer.

It’s only one game but watching AJ closely last night I saw a guy who can’t dribble well, can’t defend, and wasn’t shooting the ball well. Hopefully he bounces back on Sunday.

I'll try to give him the benefit of the doubt that he was just overly hyped up trying to prove himself or something....but yeah, he needs to be A LOT better in the next few games if he has any hope of making the roster.

He wasn't impressive, I agree. But he probably has till mid preseason to get his game together as do all the guys competing to enter the rotation for the coming regular season.

A.J. has the measurables, so I'm not sure why he's such a poor defender. Against the Lakers, he was either biting on fakes or reacting very slowly. Either way, he was a non-factor on that end of the court, which will hurt his chances of resurrecting his young career.

If he was a passable defender, his potential on offense is good enough to keep him around.

Defense is involves willingness to defend, IQ to understand what is happening, measurables and coaching. He'll get coaching from Ime and he has the measurables so really its just his IQ and heart.

He has an entire year to clean up his game I liked him as a prospect and he had a very solid rookie year so hopefully he pans out.

I don’t know the rules but as long as he can be sent to RGV to work on his game, it was a good gamble.

agreed. Worst case he’s expiring salary filler in a trade at some point this year. I’ll be watching him closely today to see if he can shake off his Friday performance.
