here you go NIKEstrad. Walton Shines, Badiane Shows Potential This is the comparison to Amare:

Sr VP of Player Personnel for the Suns “At 19 years old, he’s not ready to play yet,” admitted Suns’ Senior Vice President of Player Personnel Dick Van Arsdale. “Tremendous reach and some athleticism for a big guy, but he’s a guy who, in my opinion, is not ready to make a transition to the NBA yet. But he has a lot of potential.” ... Van Arsdale scoffed at an ESPN.com report that quoted an unnamed NBA scout that said, “I hate comparisons, but how different is (Badiane) from (2002-03 NBA Rookie of the Year) Amaré Stoudemire in terms of strength and desire? I don’t think there’s a that big a gap.” “To me that shows what ESPN knows about evaluating players,” Van Arsdale responded. “There’s one guy last year that said Amaré’s a role player, so I don’t put much credence in that stuff. There isn’t any comparison to Amaré in my opinion. (Badiane) is a lot taller, but that’s really a stretch to compare those two guys, even in the long run.”

There's some more quotes in there.
this is a suns' opinion. hes suppose to hype his guy up, and make him seem unique. cant have and rockets opinions either cuz they are gonna hype him in our point of view. some unbiased reports on this guy is needed.
you really believe a VP of Player Personnel gave an interview *before* the draft about a player who he called in to a workout, and decided to bash the guy after the workout just to make Amare feel better? nonesense. Read the article, again. That is as unbiased as they come. that was before the draft.
this guy worked out with a number of teams. lets see some of the others' comments about this guy. "There isn’t any comparison to Amaré in my opinion. (Badiane) is a lot taller, " the guy is 1 inch taller......
I have seen them. Have you? Badiane dropped 10-15 spots. Your main point should be that the Suns where trying to get him to fall further, to their 2nd round spot, which was lower than ours. Do you really think he fell 10-15 spots on that Sun VP's comments?
True. But leg size helps on muscular endurance and strength. This might help Yao better in terms of post strength. As far as leaping...well.... It depends...it might hamper Yao's leaping ability depending on how he trains (fast/slow twitch). Also, more mass, means more weight to carry around. Of course, with the proper training, Yao could exceed the threshold of weight to strength like Charles Barkley did. That guy could jump even though he carried around a lot of lower (and upper) weight. P.S. I think we need to be cautious. Yao can't be jumping around on those feet for 10 years. Same with the knees. Not sure we want him to be the next Jordan (he should break 300lbs next year).
Looks like if he stretched out his fingers they'd reach the mid part of his thigh. So, his arm length alone does seem like they are pretty long compared to his height. I believe Yao's wing span was also 7'4", which of course has a lot to do with shoulder width as well (narrow shoulders compared to Yao's height). Actually, I think that's where Yao got this "short arm" reputation. More to do with this narrow shoulders than his actual arm length....anyways... Both Yao and Malick seems similar in size/width up top. Going on dimensions and agility (32" vertical) alone, I'd say this guy could rebound like Yao (8pg) given the minutes. That would still be more than Griff and Taylor. Heh... The bottom line is, if you have a 7 foot anything arm width, AND you're 6 foot something in height. You're arms are LONG period! From the picture above, his arms go down about mid-level (below his waist, above his knee). Going off his height (6'11") that would make ONE of his arms around 3'5" from shoulder to finger tip. I dare you to take a tape measure, and measure your own arm length. Measure just one arm. See if you get anywhere near 3' feet 5" inches. Most peoples arms are around 2' to 2'5". Us mortals.
