This must be a mistake, or a misprint, because the war was over on May 1, 2003, when President Bush declared "Mission Accomplished." Wasn't it?
The Bush twins peep out from behind their desks and flail about ineffectually at phantom liberals. Another successful mission for the 101st Fighting Keyboarders.
no, no, no ... it is only right there in your imagination ... yeah I know that it is sometimes hard to discern between the two
I saw the article on the page you provided a link for. Given your answer, I have to ask: Did you think this is a real article from 1945?
LOL, i thought that's what you meant when I followed the link. it was satire to support his point. but it was still satire so its not proof of anything
Yep. This euphoric feeling is similar to that felt after telling a friend to never drink and drive because it's way too dangerous and incredibly stupid... I secretly gloated and cheered after they crashed into a minivan, killing themselves and an innocent family. I'm so happy because I was right all along. Yay unnecessary death! It was this administration that undertook a path of death for domestic political purposes... it was the supporters that cheered the bombing... it was the administration that lied... it was the supporters that questioned the patriotism of anyone expressing reservations about the course of action... it was this administration that cut Vet benefits... it was this administration that played politics with the lives and deaths of soldiers like Lynch and Tillman... it was this administration that didn't provide adequate armor...it was this administration that neglected strategy and thought tactics were all that is necessary... and all of these things have been cheered on by the supporters of this administration. Deckard, your response was more than appropriate and probably more civil than they deserve.
How many Americans were killed in USA during the past five years? I believe the number has to be much bigger than 4000. I agree that each death is a huge loss for these families who lost their son or thier daughter to the war and may God bless them and may these soilders who died in Iraq R. I. P. But overall, 4000 death during 5 years is not a big deal.
You can't compare accidents and crime with a stupid war. People don't volunteer to die in car crashes and the government doesn't support violent crimes. All 4,000 are directly attributable to decisions made by the administration... none are the result of a crime of passion or a slippery road or falling off a ladder. Edit: Would 4,000 be a big deal if you knew one of them? If it was your brother, sister, son, daughter, husband, wife, father, or mother?
Certainly it is sad that 4,000 of our service men and women have died in Iraq. I think everyone can agree on that whether or not we believe it was a justified action.
No big deal? Way to "support the troops." I guess the 3,000 killed on 9/11 weren't a big deal to you either.
Maybe I should put it this way "4000 is not a big number". I have already said, each death is a huge loss for these soilder's families or their relatives. But for the whole country or for the government, 4000 is not "a big number". I don't support any war by the way. But peace is just a dream and the reality is somewhere someone is being killed everyday. As long as it was not some big fish's son or daughter, not many people care to do something for it. And this is why this war happened and will continue. Agree?
So I guess civilian casualties are lesser deals than this no big deal. Nor the 17:1 wounded ratio which Americans should rightly treat and support... Bathos from Routers.
No, I don't agree nokidding. This war could have and would have been avoided if there weren't so many cowardly Democrats in Congress (see: Clinton, Kerry, Edwards, Gephadt, et al) thinking about running for president and if the president and his administration hadn't been so willing to look the American people in the eye and tell one lie after another to sell them on it. This war was completely unnecessary and completely avoidable. "No big deal?" "Not a big number?" No, friend. We don't agree at all.
Gotta love the libs' strategy for how to deal with Iraq: "We never should have been there." How helpful. This is Obama's stock answer to how to deal with Iraq today, it's pathetic. Actually, he likes to say it has cost us greatly in 'blood and treasure'. Nice of him to add that flowery touch to the words to make it more impactful, lol. What a moron. Newsflash to the schadenfreude celebrants -- WE ARE THERE. The question is how do we win and how do we manage the consequences of our involvement GOING FORWARD. Saying "we never should have been there" doesn't advance the discussion.
