did you see him on the Daily Show? Those first 5 minutes was too much for me. They hardly said a word and I was cracking my ass off.

I agree with Isabel. The fact that the phrase "40-year-old virgin" is an automatic mockery is kinda sad. God bless AC Green.
Since nobody has given a review, I guess I will. It was funny. I laughed a whole lot. The way they portrayed the Virgin character was hillarious. If there were a forty year old virgin, it would be this guy. And the scene where he dogs his buddys girlfriend is hillarious. If you liked Wedding Crashers, you will like this movie.
Great movie, well deserving of the 90% rating it had at Rotten Tomatoes. This movie was a lot funnier than wedding crashers. In WC, the comedy came mostly from Vaughn and Isla Fisher, but it seemed like every principal character in this movie was stealing the show.
Movie will make you laugh and is a lot more consistent than the overrated Wedding Crashers. The only problem I had with the movie is how they had to take the last 10-15 minutes and turn it into a complete chick flick. I could tell they were trying hard not to go in the "chick flick" direction, but it still happened. Oh well, you will laugh a lot at this movie.
and then there is the "people who have slept with the wrong 40-year-old too many times" club... Don't worry, I'm not going to preach to anyone...
This was the best comedy I've seen in quite some time. Worth the price of admission for sure. Carell is the man!
I agree. And I expect you to support him by watching The Office to keep it from getting the axe next season.
My friend and I saw it last night. We didn't laugh QUITE as much as Wedding Crashers, but it was still hilarious. It wasn't as slapsticky as WC (for the most part, anyway). The movie didn't really make fun of him for being a virgin, although he was the stereotypical "never got a girl" type (except that he wasn't still living at home with mom), it made fun of his friends' attempts to make him into a "player". He was comfortable with who and what he was until everyone around him found out and thought it was abnormal. I didn't see a real weak spot in the cast. Everyone was great, the comedic timing was excellent, and some of the scenes are eminently quotable (the body wax and Andy telling off Jay's girl spring to mind). Also thought the ending was weird, but in a good way. The first thought that came to mind was that Judd had seen the credits to "There's Something About Mary" too many times.
I saaw Four Brothers which was suprisingly very good. Then we snuck into 40 year old Virgin, which was very funny but Wedding crashers had me cracking up the whole time unlike this one. It's worth going to see though.
totally agree. i liked wedding crashers enough to want to see it again the next day but i think this one has it beat.
Go see it, Isabel. My wife and I did last night, and although it took a bit to see just where this was going (we were thinking it would make fun of the guy... it didn't), it ended up being hilarious. And the ending was great. There's a cinematic term for what they did, but I don't want to give anything away. In short, it was great! Most laughs we've had in quite a while.
Funnier than most comedies, but not hilarious. Carrell's lucky they put a strong supporting cast around him, because he can't carry a lead.
