I am not a "start Vspan ahead of Rafer" guy, I am simply a "play Span 8 minutes a game to give Rafer his rest" guy.

now tell me, why are those players that can "drive/dish w/ less TO and more efficiently"???

Tmac? yes, but what doesN'T he do?
Rafer? pfft, those floaters are just great (no hate on Rafer, but hey, the teardrops suck!)
Head? mediocre driver/ passer, better stay behind the 3 pt line and stroke em with confidence

the only inside presence right now is Bonzi, who is still not even close to 100%. we have Snyder who can drive to the basket, but he is currently not playing.

we desperately need a guy who can aggressively take it to the rim, but I know for a fact that Vspan isn't the answer.

JL3 has looked like a ballhog lately, mainly today and Portland.

I think Spanoulis will be / is a good player but he's not what the Rockets need it seems like. The Rockets (or JVG) want a PG who can handle the ball with minimal turnovers, push the tempo, hit the open jumper (3 ball), and play good individual/team defense.

Spanoulis can push the tempo, play good defense (though i'm not sure about team D and he does foul a little too much), and he seems to be able to hand the ball but he turns it over a lot too.

I like Spanoulis a lot, I don't think he should have complained like that, but I like him a lot and want him to succeed but he just isn't right or isn't ready for the Rockets rotation yet.

I can just imagine it.... V-Span on the wing trying to get the entry pass to Yao... V-Span struggles because his man is standing 5 feet away from him and V-Span won't shoot...V-Span finally passes it to Yao..... V-Span's man doubles Yao.... Yao disses it back out to V-Span.... V-Span's man stays 5 feet off of him daring him to shoot..... V-Span doesn't know what to do....

What happened to Synder? Was he even on the bench? The fourth was some pathetic basketball. Novak looked pretty good, but JIII and VSpan were, uh, not good, especially Lucas. I do love to see VSpan drive, he does it better than most players on the team. Before garbage time, the team was clicking on all cyclinders, they really have it going, and Bonzi is coming around.

The TMAC of Europe would just drive baseline and dunk of 7' 6" Shawn Bradley...right?

Not to start an argument but put yourself in his shoes, the Rockets are up by 40 points and it is definitely scrub time. Everyone has played or is playing accept for Padgett and him. The coach waits another 5 minutes before he finally throws him a bone. But it is demoralizing to be thought of so little. I have been in that situation. When I knew I was better than the competition but probably because I was a bit arrogant the coach kept me on the bench. It was humiliating to be treated lie crap especially when I knew I was better. So when I did get on the court I tried to play hard but somehow my heart wasn't in it. I got over it and billy will too. But right now he is 11th or 12th man on the team only he truly is the 12th man on the court because Padgett will get into the game in certain situations whereas Billy will only get the garbage of the garbage minutes. The fans are cheering him on and chanting for him and he is the garbage of the garbage. He is got to be feeling pretty down about that. And I don't think it is feeling sorry for himself but more feeling like how can I get past this.

They can't guard him 5 feet from the ball bacause he will drive to the basket.

say what? I'm not saying 5 feet in another direction. I'm giving him room and making it tougher to get an entry pass in. That would make it harder to drive, because the defender has more time to react.

How could he drive past his man if he was given five feet...sounds like a turnover waiting to happen right there.

Next in line, I rather have Luther back up Rafer and Tmac in handling the ball over Vspan as he does not try to force anything and play within the system that is designed by JVG. JL3 needs to take note from Luther, stop forcing up shots. Bottom line is , I rather have a PG (non-starter) who tries to play within the system and have turnover, than a players who just freelance on his own and have a turnover. Catch my drift ? :)

let's see.... V-Span now has 20 TOs in 185 minutes. That's 1 every 9 1/4 minutes... If V-Span played 37 minutes a game like Rafer he'd be on pace for just over 4 TOs per game. Rafer averages just over 2. The saddest part is that V-Span hardly gets the ball when he's in, so you'd think he wouldn't have the chance to turn it over a lot.

VSpan isn't going to contribute this season. If he was going to make any kind of impact he would have by now.

JL3 will never contribute because he doesn't have the ability to play at the NBA level. The guy can't really do much of anything. Can't shoot, can't finish at the rim, can't pass, can't play defense. He is stealing the money he makes.

Have you seem defenders play players that can drive to the basket? They usually stay very close, because if you give them space, they will go by you or get a foul. I just can imagine somebody guarding a slasher 5 feet from the basket.
