This is true in a way, as they become reliant on the petrochemical and hazardous materials industry to grow dead food for cows and packaged foods. Many in the midwest are already wisening up to the practices which destroy soil, crops and their ability to have a strong yield season in / season out.
You waste everyone's time spiveling drivel on the internet and that is a crime on it's own. Social media done more harm than good. Farmers should receive all the help they need because without them, you're dead. The issue here is what they grow and the wrong education on how to grow it.

It is socialism and folks here are right to criticize it. The more powerful the special interest group or voting block the more handouts they get. Whether its Repubs or Dems. Take the corn industry which is subsidized so many ways from limits on sugar imports to ethanol mandates. This means we're all having more expensive high fructose corn syrup or paying more at the pump due to ethanol mandates so we're each paying a few pennies a day. There is hypocrisy on both sides and it stinks both ways. As someone that is fiscally conservative and socially liberal but lean more republican I can say it as should most others. When costs rise due to subsidizing farmers to energy to steel to wind turbines it costs taxpayers more money for lesser goods and reduces the ability to save and invest disproportionally felt by the poorest of Americans.
I can respect that you are at least honest about it. I don't actually mind the subsidies or I wouldn't if they actually went to small farmers and not the giant corporate farms. Of course, sadly under the Trump administration even with subsidies the amount of farms that had to file for bankruptcy has increased from where it was during the Obama administration.
There isn't really hypocrisy on both sides. Both sides are executing their desired economic policy interests. The GOP believes you stimulate the economy more by subsidizing the "job creators". The Democrats at least the progressive wing of the party believes that you stimulate the economy more by subsidizing regular middle class citizens. Economic theory suggests the later is more sound as middle class people have more reasons to spend more money due to tax savings because middle class people often struggle with basic bills which prevents them from doing things like eating out multiple times a week. Regular Ameeicans people spend a larger percentage of their money than wealthy people. No hypocrisy at least here on my part as I've always been upfront in having a government that subsidizes ordinary citizens rather than corporations.
Another issue with this is most of those subsidies didn't go to small family farms but to agribusinesses. Family farms have been in trouble for decades but the policies of the current administration are accelerating that.

Cons hem and haw about needing to "feed the nation" without realizing the practice sprung from the New Deal. They don't mind spending borrowing trillions over defence in ****all nowhere. Threat perception a bit wacky. Dems can win them back if they turn their platform into a coloring book to sing over during weekends.
From what I'm hearing out of rural MN and WI is that many farmers know that they are being hurt by the policies of this Administration but many believe that things will get better and they believed that Trump would eventually negotiate a great deal with the PRC. Also environmental and social issues have turned them against Democrats. They look to Democrats as the party that will prevent them from using their land as they see fit while looking down upon them for their religious beliefs.
The serious problem is the education of the peasantry. The peasant economy is scattered, and the socialization of agriculturewill require a long time and painstaking work. Without socialization of agriculture, there can be no complete, consolidated socialism.
Which is funny because they all claim to be environmentalists...in order to hawk bioethanol and other bs products.
