    Actually . . the old fashion . . JUST DON'T DO IT
is enough Explaination for a 4 yrs old

This concept that everything has to be explained in detail to kids
who could not understand it all is ridiculous

JUST DON'T DO IT . .that is enough explaination . . . he will get the real reason
    later

I get what you're saying...and I don't entirely disagree. However, if you're not a teacher, it's hard to understand the situation they're in. You have a HUGE target on your back. The students have it in for you, because they don't want to go to school. The parents have it in for you, because it's easier to blame the teacher than to take responsibility for not being an adequate parent to your child. And the district has it in for you, because you're expendable, and a convenient scapegoat for anything that goes wrong.

It's bred an environment where teachers have to cover their butts (metaphorically speaking) no matter what happens. So we end up in situations where a student hugs a teacher, and rather than bring it up with the student or the parents (and risk possible litigation and/or dismissal) the teacher reports it to the district, which goes to this extreme. I don't blame the aide for this at all. If anyone is to blame, it would be the district (for overreacting) or the parents (for not teaching their child to respect other people's personal space).

Teaching 4 year olds, keeping away physical contact is pretty much an impossibility. My wife did some substitute teaching and they told her she absolutely was not allowed to touch any of the kids. When she got to class, they wanted to hug her, sit in her lap, have her take them to the bathroom, etc. Highschoolers just don't know any better.

 Max, watch your sentence structure. You're leaving yourself wide open.

Well, that's debatable...I mean, when you get older, then you can stick your face in these...Actually, you'll be a Legend, depending on what age you get to these bad boys......

But seriously, this is the dumbest thing I ever heard...I mean, kids are kids and at 4 years old, I'm sure he had no idea what the hell he was doing...
