Quite a leap there... Hagee seems like an armchair QB shouting at the TV while al-Nafisi is a powerful coach working the sideliness trying to whip his players into a frenzy.

Just want to say that this is bullcrap:

Have no clue where that (above) is in the Quraan. Please show me if it exists. Also, "infidel which makes you deserving of death" >> that is also a lie.

The entire video is un-Islamic in nature. Famous saying from the Prophet PBUH: "(In God's eyes) Killing one human is equivalent to killing all humans."

Nevermind that there are Muslim Americans who would die in such an attack. So if you (general "you") believed that he was doing what the Quraan asked, that would be really idiotic. Nevermind that there are Christian Arabs and Arab Muslims in the world as well. There is no such thing as Islam vs. America because Islam is a religion and America is a COUNTRY of mixed ethnicities, religions and races. Neither Islam or Christianity are restricted to certain races, ethnicities, cultures or nationalities. Anyone can become Muslim or Christian.

It's funny how people don't research outrageous things they hear as long as it confirms what they already believe.

I don't know who this Hagee guy is but from what I've read in this thread (re: Katrina, attacking Iran, etc) I find it quite hilarious that if he were put in a room with this guy from the video, they would find that they have a great deal in common.

As mentioned before, one nutjob does not mean anything. It is a random occurence.

I may have asked you this before...and you've always obliged in answering my questions about your perspective on the Koran.

When I read his quote, I knew immediately what part of the Koran they were referring to...it's this:

    http://quod.lib.umich.edu/cgi/k/koran/koran-idx?type=simple&q1=Jews&size=First+100

[5.51] O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people.

Can you help explain this?? I know I've talked to other Muslims about this in the past....and it MAY have been you. But I'd appreciate your input on this.

I've read something in the Hadith, as well, that talked about Allah specifically using the Koran so that believers could understand they are forbidden from taking Jews as friends.

Who has more listeners/supporters/followers? Hagee or al-Nafisi?

Hagee probably... but more importantly look at their respective audiences and the appraisal of the threat they pose as indicated in some of the links provided.

Hagee preaches that America is in the midst of a "jihad" against Muslims.

We currently have more than 130,000 troops in the Middle East.

Are you referring to me? I'm quite sure the guy is perturbing the meaning of the Koran but what is practically important is what people believe the Koran says rather than what it actually says. People twist the Bible and use that for their own mean ends.

Why do you call this a random occurrence? According to some of what I read, this guy travels the Arab world freely giving this kind of talk. The room in the video seemed to have hundreds of audience members. Didn't it say somewhere the he is a professor of political science?

Why do you not consider him dangerous?

Hagee said that the "jihad has come to America" in the clips I watched.

And to "win at all costs" mean bringing the war to them

Hagee has incited the tens of thousands of his followers to support the war in Iraq and yet he walks freely through our society.

The similarities between these two men are striking and yet you are the only one who can't seem to see it.

Would you agree though that both are calling for all out war?

So you prefer that the war come to our shores?

Not really. The way you put it, you'd think that we started the slaughter of innocents. Jihad is an Islamic term... :D

I see similarities but in no way would I even approximately equate them as so many here want to do. al-Nasif seems to openly court and encourage terrorism while Hagee calls for a military solution which has a political component and some accountability measures.

in different ways. one terroristic and one militaristic. one targets civilians while the other doesn't... but the enemy hardly ever wears uniforms so it is tough.

So you're not only acknowledging that there is a war similar to the one Hagee describes, you're seeking to justify it too. It was only a matter of time before you began betraying your true feelings.

Wouldn't "at all costs" include targetting civillians too?
