https://sports.yahoo.com/do-the-spurs-make-sense-as-a-possibility-for-chris-paul-205452750.html The Raptors have been repeatedly mentioned by league executives as one of the teams, in addition to New Orleans, Houston and Washington, that will continue attempting to move into the top three as the draft approaches. Toronto has also contacted Houston about the No. 4 pick, sources said. To make a deal with Houston or Portland — the Blazers and Raptors have discussed both Siakam and Anunoby in the past, sources said — there’s some relevant context at play. With Siakam, any team acquiring the All-NBA talent would have to consider Siakam becoming eligible for a lucrative extension this summer, entering the final year of a $37.8 million contract. Anunoby has been a target of Portland’s for some time, although the Raptors have told rival teams they declined the Blazers’ efforts to swap the No. 7 pick in last June’s draft for Anunoby.
I think there are various considerations for looking at trade targets: Age Contract Health Fit Cost to acquire I think my priorities would look like... Jaylen Brown OG Anunoby Patrick Williams Lamelo Ball Zion Williamson Jrue Holiday Jordan Poole
I don’t think so. I think Jaylen Brown ends up back in Boston with an extension. There are some other targets on that team, like Marcus Smart, White, Grant Williams, but I doubt Marcus will be traded. The other 2 could very well be signed by someone and maybe the Rockets.
Boston has to unload at least one guard without disrupting their core. Does Tate, Garuba and a couple 2nd rounders get u close to a Derrick White?
I like the idea of White and Grant almost as much as Brown. Smart is their Beverley. I doubt he's available. It took Chris Paul to make Beverley expendable. We have no one like that. I certainly want to import their culture and experience in the system as much as possible. I do wonder if Brown has an ego and wants out from Tatum. Going to a place where he gets paid and is clearly the Alpha may appeal. I think you're probably right that he ultimately stays, but the only real downside is he makes Green expendable. I would think he would have to go to Boston just from a package level anyways.
I would probably do it just to shift the depth chart to a weaker spot. That being said, it does little to help their salary cap issues other than making Grant somewhat expendable. I think White and maybe Brogdon more likely to go... they could target a replacement for them in the draft or trade.
At this point I will say yes. Start the tanking over. Team bereft of talent. FVV OG Anunoby Brooks Eason Sengun KPJ 6thhhh man PS trade Whitmore in the package as well. I know he was only 18 a few days ago but @CHAMPBOY already declared he is an athletic Josh Christopher. So get rid of him.
