What do you recommend? One of my colleagues will be over there for work from Switz and has asked what I would recommend (me being a native Houstonian - but haven't lived there for over 10 years). I struggled with this a bit. Thought NASA, Galleria and/or enjoy the tex-mex/BBQ. The guy will only be there on Saturday morning from 8am-12pm. Just thought I would see if the BBSers have any great ideas. many thanks
Not NASA. The galleria and Museum district would be good choices, but four hours in Houston mainly means he can only really check out one place.
Probably the MUSEUM/ZOO/HERMANN PARK area. That seems like too little to really appreciate Houston. Ah, I see you know the area. What streets are you talking about, exactly?
It would be helpful to know where this guy is gonna actually be. If he is only here for a 4-hour layover at the airport, he's pretty much screwed. Is he actually in town for those four hours? Does the four hours include or not include time at the airport? Or is he driving in from somewhere else? Four hours is nothing, especially when airports are involved.
Wow... 4 hours? That's not much time. You could get a bite to eat and then rush back. BBQ for sure. There is a recent thread on the best places, but again... You are strapped for time. Good luck
Good point, thanks. He is staying in the woodlands (location of the client). He's been there for the past few days, but it has been non-stop as an investigation is currently underway. The only free time which he will have to check out the best of Houston is Saturday morning. Shame, I know - gave him **** already.
Not a lot of time at all...Well, I would take him for some Tex-Mex for lunch, maybe Pappasitos, Irma's or original Ninfa's...prior to that, if he likes art, museum...
I always try to take visitors to The Orange Show. It's one of the only truly unique things we have here.
The only things I know about The Woodlands: -Lots of white people. -I go through it on my way to Dallas. -I only actually go there for concerts at the Pavilion. In other words, I'm of no help. Does he have four hours to kill BEFORE going to the airport? Or four hours before his flight, which means he has really only about two hours to kill? Seconded. Edit: Nevermind.
