Three speed projects of the 2012 NFL draft are free agents now. They're still freaks and they've all developed under someone else's watch. I think they're all undervalued. Adding these 3 players would move us from last to first in skill position speed. Hopkins would be our slowest playmaker. 4.3 WR/Return Specialist Travis Benjamin. Like all three he's just entering his prime. He was a revelation this year, with some of the highest big play stats of any WR in the league despite playing for the Browns and having to deal with Texans level QB play all year. 4.4 RB Lamar Miller. He has game breaking speed that we unfortunately know all too well. I have no earthly idea why the Dolphins have refused to give him more carries, but that makes him undervalued, hungry, and still has plenty of tread on the tires. 4.5 TE Ladarius Green. He's 6'6 and has 4.5 speed and has been training under one of the all-time great TEs in Antonio Gates. He was raw when he came into the league but has been deserving of more playing time the past two years but unfortunately has been stuck behind Gates. What do y'all think? It looks like Lamar Miller is shaping into a real possibility and there are rumors of Texans' interest in Benjamin as well.
I think that Miller and Benjamin are enticing and if our front office is smart we'd sign all 3. Texans keep talking about getting faster and playing faster, this would solve that problem.
Green strikes me as the type of player a good QB can get a lot out of, but a bad QB would squander. He wont make life easier on the QB. So I don't think he'll be worth his market value as a Texan.
