I don't understand what is being said here.
    Is it:
    1) Thibs is a fraud of a coach? This is because Chicago can't beat more talented teams?
    AND
    2) The Bulls aren't talented enough to win in the playoffs?

That doesn't make sense. Also, I disagree with them both.
    1) The Bulls were 41-41 for 3 straight years before Thibs. Now their winning % is much higher. Also, they've had more playoff success under Thibs than the team did before him.
    2) They are talented enough to win playoff series, but that doesn't guarantee winning the championship. Miami is the most "talented" team, but they didn't win the whole thing. Maybe they will this year, but how is that Chicago's fault for not being on Miami's level of talent. Miami will always have at least 2 out of the best 3 players on the court at all times.

Dwight Howard has only missed 3 games in his entire career from injury.

Of course he misses a game important to the Rockets. Why would it be any other way?

Now Kobe can shoot as much as he wants because he's "got no help".

He's walking on it. Should be fine, unless he's brittle like Yao.

    EDIT: update

X-rays were negative on Bynum's ankle, & LAL are calling it a "moderate" sprain. But he won't return tonight.

    Let me elaborate.

Thibs is a great coach (in fact COY in my book again this year), but he is also a coach that tries to get 100% out of his players EVERY NIGHT. This means that this Chicago team has been playing close to 100% of their abilities for the full season while other teams do not. Therefore their record compared to other teams does not reflect how good they are compared to others. Hence the term "regular season champs".

Chicago can beat most teams in the playoffs because they have more or equal amount of talents than most teams and their defense will carry them. They just can not beat the top two to three elite teams because they don't have as much talent. And that's when they get exposed. They need better players.

A rare good shooting night for Kobe.

    And Bynum never returned.

That's soooooo dumb. You're saying Chicago's defense is good enough to beat a lot of teams but not top 2 elite teams because they're not talented enough? If they keep playing the way they're playing right now then it doesn't matter who they're playing, their defense will help them out. This whole not talented enough argument is so ridiculous. Miami has arguably one of the most talented teams, yet they can't seem to get anything clicking. Chicago, which apparently doesn't have a talented team, has a team playing solid defense game in game out and seem to do very well against top elite teams.

Chicago currently has the best record in the east despite Rose being injured a lot this year. And, how the hell do we quantify what teams would be if they played 100% hard like the Bulls, which I'm not saying is a dumb statement...it's just hard to prove true at the least.

And all teams always need better players. In the East, the only team more talented than the Bulls are the Heat...I think that's a fair statement. As long as there's Wade and LeBron, I don't think any team is more talented than them.

Lastly, the Bulls never got Exposed in the Eastern Conference Finals last year. If I remember correctly, the Heat were the Favorites in Vegas, and most everyone picked the Heat to win that series. I think your points are not too crazy...it was just weird that you said Thibs was a fraud in your first post.

First of all I never said Thibs was a fraud. Go read my post again. Thibs should win the COY again this year because of the job he did with Chicago despite of all the injuries. However, it is also my belief that Thibs' approach does not work in the long term. The NBA season is a marathon. Players do burn out and you need a second gear in the playoffs.

Chicago's record suggests that they are the best team in the league. And they are not. That's my point. Their records suggest they are better than they actually are.
