As a Yao fan and a Rockets fan, I think trading Yao to a team that may fit him better can be good for both parties. I think the Lakers may gladed take him. I say Yao for Odem or Gasol. Yao will have a lot more fans in LA cheering for him too.
MAN!! . . I would love to go 6-0!!! hell . . I'll take 6-1!!! Rocket River beyond that . . it is just interesting
We're only talking about one game in each of the last four seasons, so it's spread out... but it's true. 4-0 Rockets. Kobe is averaging 20.8 points on 37% shooting in those games. Lakers shooting just 38.9% from the floor combined, scoring just 82.5 points a game. During same time span, Rockets are 3-11 against Lakers with Yao. Lakers shooting over 46% and scoring 101.4 ppg. 4 Yao-less wins:

12/18/05: Rockets 76 @ Lakers 74
1/10/07: Lakers 77 @ Rockets 102
3/16/08: Lakers 92 @ Rockets 104
5/10/09: Lakers 87 @ Rockets 99

If some of you want to be smart about it. We are only 1-0 against the Lakers this year without Yao. Considering winning ratio and other crab doesn't make sense since both team don't have exactly teh same lineup like last year. Use your brain if you have one.
Perhaps it is you that has not used the white matters inside your cranium. We are only 1 and 0 without Yao. But we were also 1 and 6 with Yao. I think with another wing player like T-mac, this team can beat LA just about every time out without Yao.
It is all about match ups. When oppenents go quick and small, Yao will have problem. However if they go big like put Bynum in the middle, then we need Yao. Adelman needs to be quicker to make adjustments instead of just sticking to one lineup.
What are u trying to prove? we can win the series aganist LA? Then what about Denver? What about Cleverland?
You should mention that are "star" player has "sucked" but our role players have been outstanding these 4 times. I'm very proud.
We are only talking about the match-up with LA. I believe against many other teams, Yao is a benefit rather than a burden.
Quit being a douche. He's just stating a fact. If you really want to be smart about it we are only 1-6 against the Lakers with Yao this year.
well if you watched the game, gasol had 1 bucket the entire 1st quarter on hayes......he did all his damange in the 4th when it didnt even really matter anymore....like JVG, just putting up meaningless stats.
Why we shouldn't be surprised at winning without Yao http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/recap?gameId=290316003 I totally forgot about this game. Remember how jubilant we were after this completely unexpected win with Yao out? Today, we are echoing the same thoughts. I remember making a thread after that win about how games like those completely validate everything GM Daryl Morey is doing with the team. How many other teams win this game without their best 2 players? Nobody. The way Morey assembled this team made it so deep and versatile that pretty much nothing can prevent this team from being competitive and at least good enough to make the playoffs and maybe win a round or two with the right matchup. We still need our best players to win a championship, but to be able remain competitive without them is all a testament to Morey. Just look back at our previous years and our horrendous record without T-Mac, Yao and T-Mac+Yao. Look at those awful rosters Yao/T-Mac tried to carry (and fail) past the first round, and look at the roster now. Morey 4 President!
The stats may have been meaningless but you can be sure they were working on things to use in the next game.
this stats just doesn't prove anything. 4-0 without yao? different rockets AND lakers. when dh12 was suspended, his team actually won. what does that tell you? (hint, no too much.)
I came into this thread thinking you would actually post a more relevant game recap, like this one.
Haha, I remember that game. It was so emotional that night, and Mutombo had like 50 blocks. Our defense in that game was impeccable.
