    WOW!

    http://www.nba.com/rockets/news/the_ariza_experiment_rockets__2009_10_01.html

“When you look at his size, length and athleticism, the player I always think of is Scottie Pippen,” says Turner. “I’d like to see Trevor handle the ball and be wiry, slashing and cutting like that. He already has the length and athleticism which, that alone, gives us something we didn’t have from that position last year. He’s going to rebound the ball and he really knows how to play. He’s still a young guy. We are going to ask him and probably demand from him to play a little bit out of his comfort zone in terms of not being such a spot-up player; you know, make something happen with the ball in his hand – like Pippen used to do.

Since our coach staff hope Trevor Ariza to become next Scottie Pippen, it is safe to say they expect Tmac to be MJ...

I wonder what Phil Jackson thinks of the Pippen-Ariza comparisons.

no one said he'd be the next Pippen......and i dont think it's a bad player for him to mold his game after...he's definitely more Pippen than T-mac. He's gonna need to improve his strength some though..

Pippen as we saw in he's stint here in 1998- 1999 might be the most overrated SF ever.

Pippen and mcgrady are nowhere similiar. ones a offensensive powerhouse and pippen was a defensive ace.

He was more than a defensive ace,in his prime. He couldn't take Chicago to the NBA Finals as a leader without Jordan, but came close to it,despite all his problems. McGrady has more offensive talent, but couldn't come close to that.
Pippen was a huge let down for Houston, but he achieved quite a lot in his heyday.

It's funny that Brent Barry is leaving and Shane is injured. Chase Budinger could be a taller version of Brent Barry/Shane Battier hybrid with his great 3pt shooting, high BB IQ, and relying on defensive tactics to make up for lack of speed. He could learn alot from them.

Taller version of Brent Barry/Shane Battier hybrid?

Let's just cut to the chase and call it as it is -- he's the next Larry Bird. :)
