The Rs are so desperate to pass anything that they are willing to potentially sabotage their reelection hopes in 2018.

I think they may not have the votes. This vote shouldve happened by now. Either they're pulling a Tom Delay and sleep driving the Senate into voting (see how Medicare Part D passed) or they flat out dont have the votes and are screwed.

I think McCain might kill this. I assume Collins and Murkowski are no votes and McCain might just decide that this insane process is even too much for him.

Total trainwreck. McCain was apparently talking a bunch to Dems and hugged Schumer and others.

Senators McCain, Murkowski and Collins vote no. The skinny repeal is likely dead.

Yup he voted no. As did Collins and Murkowski. Bill fails. Good night everyone. Glad this **** sandwich failed.

Keep in mind, the vote is still open so they can get arm twisted into switching their vote. But most likely this is over. I doubt they can do anything.

Edit: Mitch McConnell is literally crying on the senate floor at the moment. He's giving the health care bill eulogy speech at the moment and he's surrendering. This is over.

McCain, Murkowski, and Collins are all disgraces to this country and to the republican party.

    Kudos to McCain this time.

He actually acted on his morals instead of just talking about them

I think so. Reconciliation has time and procedure limits. In theory they could use the 2017 budget to create a new set of reconciliation instructions but they'll use that for tax cuts instead.

Who knew that electing a moronic, petulant bully with a penchant for threatening long-time senators was a bad idea for a legislative agenda?
