Now that the # of teams for the league are set, when do you guys want to have the draft? And will it be forum draft or online draft?
Hey Fade, Why do you need the draft order so soon? Don't tell me you need proper time to prepare and develop a strategy for the upcoming season................ I mean if that is the case you would think you would actually be pretty good at this fantasy stuff, but we know that's not the case............. Sincerely, Your 'Ol Nemesis........
Either way is fine with me. However, if we're going to do it online through Yahoo, we should pick a date soon so we can get a good time. I don't want to be drafting on a Sunday morning at 8:45.
If we decide on a forum draft we could get it started here in the next couple of weeks. Also not down for an 8:45am Sunday draft as I'm just getting to bed or something around that time. I'm not sure what Yahoo times are available this late in the game? Has anyone checked?
LF, you are wanting a forum draft in the next couple of weeks. The season doesn't start until the beginning of Sept. Anything could happen from now and then. The best thing is to do is an online draft....or have the forum draft 2 weeks before the season start. That's my suggestion.
I mentioned having it in the next couple of weeks because I've witnessed some baseball forum drafts that take upwards of 3 or more weeks to finish. Two weeks before the season sounds fine as long as everyone is committed to showing up and checking in frequently to make their picks. Otherwise it could drag well into the season. Whatever we choose, I'm game. If we do go for the online draft, you might wanna check the available draft times. There might not too be many good slots left this late.
Well, I set the draft date/time for the league: Draft Time: Thu Aug 24 10:45pm CDT Surprisingly, LF, there were so many to choose from. If half the league won't be there, I can change it to a different date/time. But if it's just one or two, then those one or two can pre-rank their players so it can automatically be chosen. Any questions, issues, concerns?
My buddy wants to start a fantasy league also, but I'm a complete newbie to the whole thing. I'm more comfortable with fantasy basketball, but football is so different. Anyone got tips on how to draft or any resources on how to get started? I do watch the NFL though.
