If Alec Baldwin was gonna be Emmy winner "runner-up" again for his role on 30 Rock lst year, then he won it on the strength of the 3 minute therapy session with Tracy, when he role-played Tracy's dad, mom, "the white guy my mom left my dad for", and the Latina upstairs neighbor: "Callate, papi, pee-pul are sleeping." (Baldwin role-playing Tracy's dad) "Shut up, Ms Rodriguez, this ain't yor damn business." (Therapist interjecting, trying to stop the session) "OK, now, this is just ridiculous." (Baldwin, still role-playing) "Lady, I may be an ignorant black man who you paid a nickel to bust up yor chifferobe, but you aint got the right to call me ridiculous just cause I'm proud of my son." (imitates the sound of gunshots, grabs his ribcage) "Uh....they got me....h*nk*y shot me." (crumples) (Tracy jumps to Baldwin's slumped body) "No Dad, no! Don't die!" A brilliant scene. It pokes fun at stereotypes and is just can't-breathe funny.
I don't normally watch, but did last night...And that's only because when I was in NY last week and ran into Tracy Morgan on the street..I got pics and I'll post later...
lol at the "Scottie Pippen requested to be traded to Houston" comment. Jack D- "Huuston is too humid"
oh man thanks for reminding me of that scene. maybe the funniest 2 minutes i've ever seen in a sitcom (and definitely what got him the emmy). i think when he yells "dyn-o-mite!" as tracy is when i completely lost it.
