yes. would be nice to keep KT, though. I think he fits well with Ming, Griffin, Mobes & Steve.

See, I would be wlling to part with number 1 for Odom and Curry. I just think if the Rockets are going through all this for Ming, why would they give it up that quickly. If they plan to just trade, they could just let the team they plan on trading negotiate with the Sharks, his cousin, and the gov't. We'll just have to see.

I agree lee.

Any deal involving us giving up Ming (and not for a superstud like KG) MUST return a long term center solution-like Curry. No Erick Dampier, or Othella Harrington types, I'd even be skeptical of a Michael Olowokandi-his name can't even be mentioned, because he's a free agent, anyhow.

However, Curry and a high caliber SF (Odom, or a pick that would land Tskitishvili or Butler), and then I'm listening to offers for Ming.

You just don't trade Ming so your center options are Kelvin Cato and Jason Collier. It just isn't done.

The Rockets will draft Ming, and Steve will either deal with it or leave. Carrol and Rudy aren't stupid enough to throw away a potential franchise big man just because their point guard has some doubts. If the Rockets truly want Ming, they will draft him no matter what Steve Francis thinks.

It hasn't even been a week since the lottery, and suddenly, it's absolutely final that we won't be drafting or keeping Ming. Yeah, right. There's still a month until the draft, and a lot can happen in 31 days,

Personally, I think this rumor is bogus, and that Troy's source is someone trying to plant false information to confuse everyone. I can't think of one realistic reason why Steve wouldn't want a franchise big man on the team. I'm going to refrain from bashing him, and give him the benefit of the doubt until June 26th.

Someone said it...Rudy and CD's careers are not on the line. Rudy and CD are fixtures here until they retire. However they do not want to be in the lottery again. Another rookie will not get us into the playoffs this year...maybe another couple of years but not this year. So Mr. Baros...as much as you have pissed me off...I give you your props on a deal that I have been saying since we got #1 will happen all along! Your sources can kiss my @$$. That is if they really exist.

All I know, is if one person bad mouths Steve because Ming isn't going to play here, will absolutely disgust me...
Leave Steve be :)

I agree, people seem to forget that Steve is our proven franchise player. How can you bad mouth Steve for Yao Ming? This guy hasn't proven anything but that he can play well in a league that high schoolers could compete in. I believe TB that a big trade is coming, not because of any source he may or may not have, but for my faith that the Rockets are smart enought not to take the risk on Ming. Unlike all the Yao lovers, the Rockets management doesn't blow a load when they see him block or dunk on 5 feet tall chinese guys.

wow you usually only give rockets players until like 6 minutes left in the first quarter before the bashing (and posts) starts. 31 days. you must be mellowing or something.

Kubli9,

You're right Steve is the franchise player of this team, but he is not the GM. Steve seems to forget the difference between the 2.

Bottom line is that Rudy and CD are or aren't going to choose Ming and it will have nothing to do with Steve. Steve forgets that all his 'boys' are already on this team and if he wants to whine about everything from drafting Jay Will to Ming (the only 2 people worthy of going #1) then he can be dealt to some other team where he doesn't have any of his posse. Does he want to keep spouting his mouth off and get dealt from the team with his best buds Mobley, Mooch and T-Mo? I doubt it.

You should know that I only usually bash players in post-game rants. I don't tend to bash them in the offseason.

I don't understand why Troy is being acclaimed for making bold predictions when it appears that he is serving as a conduit rather than a prophet or soothsayer.

One of the definitions for prediction
reasoning about the future

A synonym for predict is prognosticate
One of the defintions for prognosticate
To predict according to present indications or signs; foretell.

Troy's posts bear no indication of prediction or prognostication, but rather playing the role of a conduit.

....Steve will get what he wants..........
As aelliot and I tried to point out in another thread, there are other possible angles to the #1 pick and how the Rockets handle it . We are still waiting for our points to be addressed and I fear that Troy will never do that.

Steve said this and he wants that......
If a major trade occurs for the #1 pick, it is quite possible that Steve heard strong rumors of a trade and used that as a chance to project substantial power and influence on the situation when in fact he had limited impact. It is doubtful that Rudy, CD and Les would publicly note that they traded the #1 at Steve's behest, so it will be difficult to prove or disprove that was the reason why it was traded (if that event happens).

.......................

Whats this? A popularity contest? You are going to throw your stuff out there and we as fans(and hopefully realists) of the game are going to consider the legitimacy. Just because not everyone is ****ting their pants cause they feel you and your "sources" are full of it you want to take a shot at those who don't take your stuff seriously? People are going to think what they want. I hope your stuff is true. I just as much as everyone else here hope we can depend on someone to provide us with authentic ****. I myself will tell you straight up I don't believe it. But if this happens to fall through Ill eat my words. But lets not forget this is supposed to be for fun.

huh? Unless what? again. If you go public with reasons why you don't want to or you can't sign someone, why is that ever a good reason to set someone up as trade bait.

Unless you believe Vancouver had the upper hand after Francis flaked on them, then no good happens by TroyBaros's claim that the Rockets are going public with Ming snags, no matter what they are.

What if LA wants Ming?

I refuse to believe Krause wants to get into the playoffs next season AND will take Ming.

LOL@GB all you want, but I believe we can make it next season if he makes another trade like he did to get Rose, AND spends his FA money wisely.

It's a trade or it's Williams.
